As for the Omegas, I'm not sure but I have the impression that the one on Golf is a stand-alone. And props to them for being open 24 hours. That's virtually non-existent these days.

I think at one point back in the 70s/80s, the Omega restaurant "chain" was probably owned by a single family/entity but each individual location seems to be completely independent in the modern era.

The January "Saturday Morning Breakfast Club" met today. Our intended destination was Alexander's in Skokie. Unfortunately, we got a late start due to Audrey's 9:30 a.m. ballet costume fitting. We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 10:20. There was a 30-40 minute wait and no indoor space left to wait in. Several groups were standing around both entrances. Clearly this place is popular. Neither girl was up for the wait though.
We checked our phone maps and decided to head up the street to Atelier Kale. I believe it's relatively new. You place your order at the counter, pay, and take a number stand to your table. They bring the drinks and food to you.

We all loved our drinks - Latte, Pink Latte (caffeine-free made with beetroot & rose petals,) & a Matcha Latte.

Audrey was happy with her Croissant French Toast.

I enjoyed the Avocado Tartine with Eggs. It was very fresh and lemony. The eggs were cooked perfectly for me. A little runny but not so runny that it's super messy to eat.

Audrey's friend was very pleased with her Grilled Avocado & Cheese Sandwich.

Note that their sign says "Blue Kale" but everything else (menu, website, etc...) refers to them as "Atelier Kale”.

We plan to try again for Alexander's when we are able to be there around 8:30 am.

After a summer hiatus and in honor of the new school year starting soon, we revived the breakfast club this weekend.

We still haven't gotten to all of the suggested spots but our choice for this get-together was Junebug Cafe. I found it delightful. Cute interior with friendly service and New Orleans-style music.

The girls both got pink lemonades while I opted for a matcha latte. Food-wise, they shared an order of beignets and each had a meat handpie. I had their breakfast handpie (scrambled egg & bacon). Very enjoyable and filling. This was definitely our messiest brunch. That powdered sugar went pretty much everywhere.

There are some terrific sounding sandwiches on the menu as well. We'll be back at some point to give those a try.

Love Bryn Mawr Breakfast Club, but in this situation don’t want to spend time waiting for a table.

Lucky Grill is already on our short list. Hope to get there soon. Anything in particular you recommend?

i've eaten breakfast twice recently at Lucky Grill. i'd driven by it thousands of times without noticing it in a strip mall, but decided to check it out as it's near my favorite dispensary. i immediately loved the old school vibe: 2 small counters with stools; tables and many old wooden booths.
i've told it's packed on sundays- i've been on a busy saturday and the wait for food was long, but it wasn't a problem. my second visit was 10:30 on a weekday and it was pretty empty. the breakfast menu is long and the prices, unlike the room, are not 'old school'. my biscuits and gravy was fine-short on meat, but not a deal breaker. my second breakfast was a 1/2 order of their irish breakfast- a perfectly cooked over- medium egg- a 2 bite piece of delicious white pudding (so good i'm planning a trip to winston's market soon to buy some for myself), a 2 bite piece of black pudding, a full sized banger, some of those pointless frozen hash browns that are NEVER, in my experience, browned in the slightest and not worth eating, a cooked tomato slice and whole wheat toast which they offered to butter in the kitchen, which was a nice touch. i like the food but really love the room. i'll be back, maybe to try their long lunch menu next time....

I've dined at many dozens of local restaurants that specialize in breakfast/brunch. I've found that most of them have waits to be seated of 20-45 minutes between 9:30 and 1:00 on Saturdays and Sundays, but no waits at all on weekdays (at any time) or if you go earlier or later than that on weekends.
