    Chicago, IL 60618

It's open. Per Block Club, they have "Italian fare from Piemonte, Lombardia and Veneto." If you're interested, I'd advise going sooner rather than later. That location is cursed.
    Website coming soon

That Block Club article is about Il Milanese, which is just up the street on Lincoln and very good in its own right. Here is one about Amano Bistro. https://whatnowchicago.com/amano-bistro-is-slated-to-open-in-the-north-center-area/

Thanks. Found it via Amano Bistro Google search, saw new North Center restaurant and didn't read any further. Will edit mine to avoid confusion for other lazy readers like me.

Until I see evidence of non bagel related items, I am going to consider this place incorrectly named. It is an appetizing store, not a delicatessen.

It’s official: the co-founder of Foxtrot on Wednesday, June 5 announced plans to reopen 15 stores in Chicago, Dallas, and Austin, Texas, this summer. Rumors have swirled for weeks that Mike LaVitola was plotting a comeback. Some former Foxtrot workers, the same employees who weren’t given any warning when former parent company Outfox Hospitality suddenly ceased operations on April 23, have been asked by managers about their interest in coming back

When it was a pop-up in the spring it was just bagels and they used NY Bagel & Bialy bagels rather than make their own. I'm curious to see what their full menu will look like.

Used to go there growing up for our family seder.

My uncle's bar mitzvah was supposed to be at their location on Lincoln/Touhy circa 1958 but was burned down in a mob arson. The Purple Hotel was later developed on the site. My grandma was able to find a replacement site at the last minute only because unusually the bar mitzvah was on a sunday (as it was shavuot).

For anyone unfamiliar, it appears to be a second location of Crosby's Kitchen, which opened in the Southport corridor in 2012. I don't know if this is their first attempt at expanding the Crosby's brand. Here is the restaurant group's portfolio. http://www.4starrestaurantgroup.com/

Why would anyone be checking a zombie thread like that? You're saying it opened all the way back in 2023, as opposed to (roughly) "a couple weeks ago"?
