It's a little early, but I thought I should start a thread so people can put the date, September 22, in their calendar and start to think about what they want to contribute. I have the permit secured and once again, it'll be at Forest Glen Forest Preserve, Shelter 1. The official address of the grove is 5420 N Forest Glen Ave, Chicago, IL 60630. We'll follow the same general framework of other years: rain or shine, start at 10 am, finish at 4pm.

I'm going to be out of the country 8/27 until 9/15, so I'll follow this thread as best I can then, but if I'm not as responsive in early September please understand, I'll rely on my fellow LTHers to help out. I'm looking forward to the picnic with all the new energy this board seems to have.

Sounds great! It's my birthday week; I already have ideas about something weird to bring.

Not certain we'll be here, but we're going to shoot for it.

I'm going to Cheese Days in Monroe, WI, 9/20 and 9/21 -- but I'm going to try to drive back on the 22nd in time to join you for at least part of the picnic. If I make, I'm thinking my contribution will be cheese. :)

Of course, Minhas - the 2nd oldest brewery in the country - is in Monroe, too, in case you want to bring back some mediocre beers.

Well, I would drink it; but I think Minhas mostly bottles its beers, so you couldn't really bring them to the picnic.

Looking at Minhas' website, it seems like they offer a number of canned mediocre beers.

Oh @mbh I am so bummed! Our oldest is getting married on 9/23 (I am happy about that, but so bummed that it means that @Coops and I will have to miss out on the LTH Picnic.

We will be with you in spirit!

If this is your favorite beer in the world, I could look for a can for you. But I don't drink beer (don't like hops), so I'd rather not bring it as my contribution. I'd be afraid of leftovers. :)

I doubt any beer they produce would make into my top 10,000 beers, so don't bother getting any.
