Interesting menu. Any idea what a "vegetarian duck" is?

Thanks, but it's Southeast Asian and the one time I had it, it was really bad - dense and dry patty that didn't have much beef taste to it. It did look pretty though.

It's traditionally a burger wrapped in an omelette but there's nothing special about the patty itself.

As good as the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich (with signature fresh jalapeños and colorful slaw) is at the relocated Chubby's Hot Chicken / Char House out here in Forest Park, the burger is even better. So rich and crisp on an excellent griddled glossy bun with addicting sauce. I think they're flying under the radar while still in opening mode and sorting out their web presence(s). Don't sleep on the banana shake with ice cream from neighboring Brown Cow.

I mistakenly attributed this outstanding burger to Marz. It was served at Marz but the food was from Mom's. The burger will be available on Monday, May 15 at Ludlow Liquors as part of the Chicago Reader's Monday Night Foodball series.

Let's try this again. I think this one is Southeast Asian. Again have not been yet, but looks good.

I think the request was specifically for beef.

Looks like we have a winner. India is definitely South Asia so this is what I was looking for. Not one, but two options - regular and wagyu (plus lamb and veggie for people not looking for beef). Thanks a lot!

I'd never heard of Bhoomi but the back story is interesting and the Yelpers love it.

No dedicated thread for Pompette wine bar yet (just opened last fall on the corner of Damen/Armitage). Very good food, and they also have a tasty burger, in the Au Cheval style, available for both brunch and dinner. With RHR, The Stopalong, and Leavitt St Tavern all nearby, Bucktown now has another excellent burger option.

Made it to Bhoomi on Saturday and unfortunately it was a disappointment. The seasoning on the "Pub Burger" was not noticeably Indian and, based on the texture of the meat, I suspect the additives, including a healthy amount of salt, were added the night before. The cheese was good and melted and the well-seasoned onions were fantastic. Maybe it's better on a weekday when the downtown work crowd fills up the food hall that was pretty empty over the weekend.

The burger at Half Acre sounds exceptional on paper. Tri-blend beef, American cheese, red onion, fermented shallot + shishito aioli, house pickles, and shredded lettuce on a house-made milk bun.

That "fermented shallot and shishito aioli" tasted like regular mayonnaise but nothing could have saved the overcooked dense patty on an overtoasted bun. Massive disappointment.

Friends enjoyed the crispy chicken and salad. Beer was great. They have their newest release - Double Barrel Catch Hell - on tap in regular and nitro versions and those definitely worth trying if you're into high ABV stouts.

Here is said anniversary burger plate. Ordered from the store at 40 E. Pearson St. 60611.
Image Image It was good. It was improved by not having to spend an additional ten dollars on it {there, or at a nearby restaurant}. One changed aspect of Epic Burger which I caught, but you might not, is that it used to have Organic Heinz ketchup (imported from Canada). It does not anymore.
From here, I went on to Timothy O'Toole's on N. Fairbanks Ct.

Pudgy- I am glad you were able to take advantage of the 15th anniversary deal at Epic burger. I was going to go to the one in downtown Evanston, and I forgot about it. Were their other burgers $5 too? I have never been there.

Yet another outstanding smash burger to add to the list. This one from pop-up about town, Chubby Boy's Burgers. They were at Ludlow Liquors last night for this week's iteration of Mike Sula's/Chicago Reader's Monday Night Foodball series.

    Image
The Original Chubby has two juicy smash patties topped with béarnaise aioli, savory hot honey bacon, crispy fried onions, and pickled cherry peppers, all on a Martin's potato bun. Beefy, rich, fatty but with a kick and some crunch. Just great.

The Oklahoma Patty Melt, an extra oniony sandwich starring the same great patties as the Original Chubby, was also pretty great.

Strongly recommend dropping in next time you hear about them popping up. Seems like Instagram is the only way to stay in the loop: Chubby Boy's Burgers
