Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Ghareeb Nawaz - Lombard location. Flippin fantastic. I'm going to be a frequent flyer to Glen Ellyn for kids' sporting events, and I've hit GN Lombard twice for their meat thali. Both times, just fantastic, and cost effective. Same general setup as Devon and UIC: menu board, bunches of items, and a no frills seating area. Prices are low, as you'd expect. Just great stuff each time - no clunkers. The Thali is like 4 or 5 scoops of stuff, a mound of rice, some sliced onion, a bit of raita, and a bread option. I ask for paratha, but not sure if there's a default of naan or a chapati. No idea what I've gotten either time, but I'm not picky like that. I'll eat anything. Always an adventure here, but I love to visit each location - partially because it's an adventure, and you know you're gonna get something fantastic for the price, even if there's a clunker or two.

I didn't know they opened one out west until I searched for nearby restaurants where I was. Fantastic surprise.

New (additional) location coming to 2364 N Lincoln Ave. Source: their very entertaining Twitter account. According to this retweet, October 14 is the big day. Signage is up.

The location in Linkin Park has a small curated menu a la the UIC location. But the extra goodie is they have a Tandoor, so fresh Naan is available. Also, Mango cheesecakes! They also have the cheapo breakfast option (99 cents) as it opens at 10 AM.

Again, I cannot comment on the meats (as I is a vegetarian) but the veggie dishes are reliable. Palak Paneer plus a couple of Garlic Naans really hit the spot for me recently.

I get to go to GN tonite!

    A silly funny:
A friend asked me to drop him off at Midway tonight AFTER feasting at GN. I asked if he was worried about smelling like an Indian joint on the airplane. His response? "HELL no, it's Southwest."

Besides Devon Ave. and the UIC Halsted/Roosevelt Rd. location, GH is also now in Lincoln Park at 2364 N. Lincoln (773-360-8496) and in Lombard (630-889-9433). They are one of my favorite Pako-Indian Restaurants and they are affordable. See: https://ghareebnawazonline.com/
