For a while there, it was the other way around: A stellar cheese department, pricey but good quality meat counter, bigger deli, lots of exotic stuff in the aisles, but Kroger really did a number on it, while Jewel did up their game a little (may have slid a bit since, hard to measure during the Whathaveyou)

I had the impression Byerly's was sold to a new owner who did not want to expand their market.
