Hi- The 4 for 6 Lean Cuisine I got, the sale ended yesterday. They are now B1G1F, but I don't know which ones are on sale. Most of their entrees are $3.99 or $4.49. I am willing to get the $4.49 B1G1F. I think those include the pizza anyway, and a few other things I like. I think the B1G1F is unlimited, but I could be wrong. I don't have a large freezer, and so I do not have the room for 20 dinners, and so I am willing to spend a bit more money than you are. The ones last week were originally $4.49, and there was a limit of four, and no you could not go back and get four more. I need to use up some of the other stuff in my freezer such as the frozen scallops, shrimp, and salmon, and use up the cans of tuna fish I got for free a few months ago. Walmart delivered an order to our condo building instead of the right address. Somebody else in the building got a case of water for free.

BTW- Cherries are now $3.99 a pound at Jewel through J4U, but strawberries and blueberries are $.99, and organic muskmelons are $1.99. They still have the Breyers 2/$9, and the $1.50 coupons, and so you can get two for $6.

Did anybody go to Jewel yesterday? I heard on a Jewel board that I belong to, that they had major problems with their app., and people were not getting the deals when they checked out, and had to go to CS to get their money owed. Apparently it is fixed now.

I went to Jewel, and the B1G1F Lean Cuisine and Stouffers, is all of their dinners that are $4.49, and so you get two for $4.49, and there is no limit on how many you can get. The sale ends on Tuesday. The Breyers ice cream that was supposed to be 2/$9 through I believe 8/20, is now on sale for $5.49. There are still plenty of the $1.50 coupons, and so you can get it for $3.99, which is still a fairly good deal. Jewel was out of the $.99 containers of watermelon. They were also out of the large containers of cut up watermelon that are normally $5.99. They are currently B1G1F, and so two for $5.99. They had plenty of the $.99 strawberries and blueberries. There is a limit of two at that price.

OOOOH. That might be something I'd target, but I completely glossed over it assuming it wasn't a great deal. That's 70oz of precut waterfruit for 5.99. It doesn't help that My local Tony's has whole ones for 1.99 this week, but precut, no "waste," and convenience makes me intrigued at 5.99 bogo. Good lookin out!

A local Jewel where I work has a weird one:
Waterloo 8pks of "Summer Berry," "Pina Colada," "Mojito," and "Rose All Day" flavors for $1.99. I bought all the Pina Colada and Mojito. The Rose flavor (Rose like the wine - Rosay) sounds like it could be awful, but I might grab one to try. I could see it being like a tangy hibiscus Lacroix style. The Summer Berry flavor was just ok at best, imo. I bought 2 and left the rest. The sale was until some mid August date. I'll go back and see if they restock, but I'm guessing it was just a "manager special." My Jewel near the house has nothing of the sort. The Pina Colada and Mojito are excellent, imo.

Because of this thread, I picked up a couple of the cut up watermelon packs. Though there's nothing on the package indicating as much, I feel like the fruit was dyed. The containers needed more than a rinse to get the pink off. Did anyone else experience this?

Hopefully the Kemps ice cream includes the frozen yogurt too. When I was at Jewel on Wednesday, I noticed that they were out of the $1.50 Breyers ice cream coupons. Thankfully I had two that I saved. The Breyers is on sale through 8/20 for $5.49. I don't see much fruit on sale at Jewel next week. I bought some strawberries and blueberries on sale on Wednesday. They were out of the $1.99 mini watermelons and $.99 cups of watermelon.

I was at the Jewel on Chicago Ave. in Evanston yesterday, and I always check the clearance section. I got a can of McCafe coffee 75% off, and I also got several jars of Better than Bouillon turkey base, which was also 75% off. They had signs for Campbell chicken bouillon, which was also 75% off, but they were all out of that. I know there are a few people here that really like the Better than Bouillon.

My Jewel (Arlington Heights, on Arlington Heights Road at Palatine) had a whole shelf of Andrew Zimmern's seasoning blends for 50% off. They're not life-changing, but they are pleasant -- especially for just a couple of bucks.

On a Jewel Facebook group that I belong to, a lot of people are buying lots of skinless/boneless chicken breast at Jewel this week because it is $1.25 a pound this week, in honor of their 125th anniversary. Is that chicken breast any good? I've heard that the breasts are huge.

I have bought those giant chicken breasts in the past. I used the last one recently to make chicken salad for lunch, which at 1 lb was just enough.

I concentrated on buying the pork tenderloins weighing in at approximately 1 pound each. Useful weight for making lots of small scale dinners.

Lately the giant chicken breasts have been much better than a few years ago. Perhaps they've solved "woody breast syndrome".

A lot of the $1.25 stuff is what was 99¢, or even cheaper, in the not so distant past. And don't get me started on the $2 Goldfish.

The $1.25 pork tenderloin does seem like a good deal, altho I'll bet it's "solution added". Marianos had a big pile of B1G1F tenderloins a few weeks ago, all natural, no limit, net price $2.50/lb if you found pairs in matching weights and rang them up as separate transactions. I wish Jewel would switch its pork offering - the Signature Select chicken is all natural. May be a moot point soon as Kroger seems to be mostly natural pork.

Those pork tenderloins were sposed to be a limit of 2. I confirmed on Saturday that the limit was not being monitored digitally. I went on separate days to test buying 2. One time I used my J4U acct credentials, and I also purchased two without using the credentials. All good. On Saturday, I went back again and bought 2 more with no credentials. All good. I saw a lady with about at least 10 of them in her cart at the self check. No issues. Word got out. On Monday, I was gonna fill the freezer, but I went to 2 Jewels, all sold out. The one closest to my house had a TON of them on Saturday, but cleared out yesterday. I'll pop into a few on my way home today. Those things are high value foodstuffs in my household. Perfect size for a family meal, low fat, easy as heck to cook, they thaw pretty quickly, and they are pre-vac sealed. Last time I filled the freezer was at $1.69/lb. I may have snoozed and loozed, but I think I scored 6 of em.

Jewel is supposed to have corn for $.19 an ear starting tomorrow, but please buy your corn at one of the farmers markets. It is way better than any of the corn at Jewel or Jerry's. The last time I bought corn at the Evanston farmer's market this last Saturday, it was 6 ears of supersweet for $5. I had to scrounge around to find six good ears though. Nichols had a lot of small ears last Saturday.

I went to Jewel last night. I was out of sparkling water, but there were no really good deals, and so I got three cartons of La Croix for $10.99 I also got two cartons of Gilberts chicken sausage that was B1G1F, and I got two cartons of strawberries that were $1.99 each, and I had a $1 off coupon on my J4U on produce. Jewel had cherries last night, but they were $7.95 a pound. I decided to pass on them. I did not see any blueberries at Jewel. I have gotten hooked on Land O Lakes lite butter with olive oil, but Jewel hardly ever puts it on sale. Jewel still has Kemp's frozen yogurt and ice cream B1G1F, and they have Breyer's on sale for $5.99, and I still have a few $1.50 coupons for Breyer's.

Jewel's IT bros have decided to be funny. Search your browser history (Firefox: Manage History, use the search box) for "drunk". You'll likely see a reference at the end of a long Jewel or Albertsons URL to "drunk-friend" and "drunk-increase". Apparently playing ping pong and downing free donuts aren't enough to keep them busy, they have to try their hands at comedy.

The Tribune's "Inside Shopper" mailing came for the first time in forever, I think it was Tuesday. $6.99/lb skirt steak caught my eye. But my location (south Wilmette, GBR) has recently decided to put their skirt steak in two categories - regular and "thin cut" per orange stickers. The latter is priced $0.50 extra. Anybody else seen this development? I got the thin cut because it was the weight I wanted but it seems like a strange late-stage development to identify it as somehow slightly premium.

John, If you're willing to be so kind as to post these sales in advance, may I ask you to do one more kind thing and separate in your list which are the Just4You digital sales and which are not?

Katie- John gets the info from a Facebook group, and I am not sure if she separates them or not. I belong to the group. It is called Jewel with Barb. You have to ask for permission to sign up for the group. They have 12,000 members currently. Cathy2 also belongs to the group.

John is providing a service that he doesn't have to do. If you want these details, I suggest you check the app or ads yourself.
