Does anyone have recommendations for small mill flour they use that provides better flavor than King Arthur ? I know I have seen these somewhere on LTH, but cannot now find them.

Wonderful selection of grains —I purchase it at the Acorn Acres farm store in Chesterton IN but you can order on line and I’m sure others will chime in with other places selling it closer to the city.

Great selection of flours and mixes. I've had great results, especially with white and yellow corn meal.

Excellent grits as well. I'm from Lexington and would always make a point of stopping by Weisenberger Mills to stock up whenever I would go down to visit my parents.

    Anson Mills is great.
You might also try buying direct from a local baker. I believe Hewn, Baker Miller, and Lost Larsen all sell the small-mill flours that they use.

Good idea. I've purchased flour a few times from Middle Brow on Armitage. I think a few different varieties are even offered directly via their online ordering portal. The team couldn't be nicer or more accommodating.

Thanks for the ideas. Over the next 6 months, I will probably try all of them.

Our CSA, Tomato Mountain, features flours, grits, etc. from Brian Severson Farms. I've had corn meal, grits and popcorn from them and have been happy. They appear to go to several area farmers markets.
