In any case, Calphalon customer support is really great. They are shipping me a replacement pan and said that I don't need to ship my old pan back.
Very nice to know they stand behind their products. Calphalon were the pieces we registered for when we were married and now, 30 years later, a few are still in use, though they're not in the greatest shape.
I started out the day with an experiment gone wrong, very wrong. Recently saw a TV ad for some mung bean-based egg substitute and my curiosity got the better of me . . .
Faux Egg OmeletI should have known better but I filled this thing with some good Newsom "Preacher" ham and cheddar cheese. Good ingredients after bad. Used the 8" Scanpan nonstick for this. The omelet took really long time to congeal. Once cooked, it looked and felt pretty good but there was a strong off note, somewhere between fishy and catcher's mitt. Not good. We all tried a few bites and being who I am, I just couldn't throw the rest away. But we don't have a dog, so I probably will.
