Some people on J4U have gotten free Mori Nu tofu. I have not gotten that unfortunately. I did get a lot of the same personalized prices though as I got last week. I got $.49 El Milagro tortillas, $1.49 sugar, $.99 strawberries, $.99 milk, $.29 eggs, $.99 iceberg lettuce, $10 off $50 purchase and 2 x points on produce. I never buy iceberg lettuce, and I don't need any more sugar and eggs. The only thing I can use is the milk and strawberries. They also have a J4U on Clementine tangerines, eggs and pringles. I will pass on the pringles and eggs. I bought eggs last week.

    Great news!

I am 45 points away from the $25 award. Earlier I got the Peacock service for three months, which is ok.

I still don't know what I will do with three nail clippers.

I oisted the code for one nail clipper on Mashupmom last month, and somebody grabbed it, but when I posted another code a few days ago, nobody wanted it. I got the Peacock too, but I have not signed up for it yet. I already have the free Peacock, Sling, which I pay $30 a month for and Hula, which I pay $1.99 a month for. I have too many channels already to watch, and Handmaid's Tale is going to start their new season in a few weeks on Hula.

Out of the freebies, the only thing I have gotten so far that I will use is the free Skippy and the sparkling water. I got four bottles of regular water and four French breads, but I don't know if I will use any of those, or the lip balm I won. The bagel I could have used, but apparently they don't have that this year because of COVID.

Whenever anything unusual or out of character ends up on our table, my family assumes it is a freebie from somewhere.

I have no use for protein or power drinks, I take them to pass onto the younger family members.

The fun will be over in two weeks.

Hi- I was at the Chicago Ave. Evanston Jewel tonight. I had a personalized price of $.99 on strawberries, but they were out of them. By the time I checked out, all they had open was the self checkout, and I actually had to wait in line to use it. I was supposed to receive 20 Monopoly tickets, but I received 28. I did not see anybody else asking for Monopoly tickets. The game is frustrating this year. Tonight I won two more bottles of water and two more loafs of French bread. I now have won five bottles of water and five loafs of French bread. I considered redeeming one of my French bread tonight, but they did not have any left. I also won a bottle of BBQ sauce, a Shutterfly canvas, and a shutterfly cotton tote, and I won 26 tokens, which means I might be able to eventually have enough for a $15 Jewel GC. I will not use any of the coupons I acquired today. I think I have only used one of my coupons so far. I was going to redeem my coupon for a free box of O Organics water crackers tonight, but I could not find it. It seems like this year they are mostly giving away bottles of water, French bread and nail clippers. Approximately a third of the gift cards have been claimed so far. There are 17 days left of the game.

The coupons issued by the game as "every ticket is a winner" have been pretty lame. Very few of the items have seemed worthwhile, and a free Open Nature or O Organics ice cream pint was worthless due to a lack of actual ice cream -- it was sorbet, reduced-sugar, or non-dairy only. (I left it in the freezer case hoping someone else will find value).

They're definitely paying out fewer tokens this year.

Hi- I won a package of O Organics or Open Nature water crackers last week in the Monopoly game. I tried to find them yesterday, and they were not among the crackers. Does anybody have any idea where they might be located? I also won a bottle of Signature BBQ sauce yesterday. Is the BBQ sauce any good?

There’s an aisle in the store dedicated to organic products, including crackers.

Slight correction, Artie: Free turkey bacon coupon is clip 4/24/21-4/25/21, redeem 4/24/21-4/26/21. Nice break from the strange drink Saturday Samplers.

And the Just4U coupon specials are 99 cent 5lb red potatoes, $1.99 ground turkey and $1.49 Triscuits, Wheat Thins, etc. Not too shabby. Other highlights for me are 88 cent half gallons of apple juice and 50 cent Yoplaits.

For those who have not gotten their COVID shot yet, Osco has a deal where if you receive a vaccine at their pharmacy, you get a coupon for 10% off your next shopping trip, and somebody told me that COVID shots are eligible. It might be hard to find a store that has appointments for the vaccine though.

On J4U right now they have a five pound bag of butter red potatoes for $.99. I did not realize they were butter flesh potatoes. That is a really good deal.

All of my personalized deals on J4U are the same as last week, including the $.99 milk, $.29 eggs, $.99 strawberries, $1.49 sugar, $10 off $50, and $1.99 Deans ice cream. This is the fifth week I have gotten the deal on the sugar. When I went to Jewel on Sunday they were out of strawberries. Hopefully they will have some this weekend.

It's funny how they pick the personalized deals. I keep getting the $1.99 Deans and .49 Jewel burger or hot dog buns. I once-in-while buy Deans but everybody around here is tired of their best flavor, Windy City Mint Fudge (used to be Fanny May Mint Meltaway). And I don't know that I've ever bought their generic buns.

On the other hand, the .29 eggs, .99 milk and .99 strawberries I would gobble up. But I don't get those.

I ended up buying a carton of Dean's ice cream Sunday because it was so cheap. I got strawberry. I had not bought Dean's ice cream in years, and I was not impressed. I think I will pass on it this week. I used to get a lot of frozen dinners such as Healthy Choice, and I have not gotten those for several months though. There was a limit of one per day at that price though.

Yesterday I picked up 70 tickets during a Jewel visit. As I walked in, a customer gave me 6 or 8 that they wouldn't use. Then I bought 8 of the 8F88 items, which entitled me to 16 tickets. The cashier said, "It's double tickets," I think meaning she intended to give me 32. Instead she gave me about a third of the huge stack she was holding.

Exciting as that was, the stack netted me 2 free bottles of water, 1 sparkling water, some 50 cent coupons, about 1/3 for products that I would consider buying, and several free Shutterfly items including desk plaques and a mug.

My kid checked out the Shutterfly discounts. Turns out it's not a free photo mug, just a custom logo one, and it's $10 for shipping. Same shipping for the plaques. Then he looked at getting a poster print with the $25 off coupon. Turns out that, with shipping, it's cheaper to get a poster printed at Walgreens.

Then I scanned all those tickets plus piles from previous trips using the app. Got several more free bottles of water, one free box of Ritz crackers, and enough tokens for a $5 gift. Oh, and a few more Shutterfly coupons.

No French bread? I think I have seven coupons for free water and seven for French bread. The last time I went to Jewel they were out of French bread, but I went there at 7:00pm. I am going to try to go there today, but I might go to the Wilmette Green Bay store, because they are more likely to have strawberries. I got a post card from Jewel that was plugging J4U, and it had four coupons I could scan, including one for $.49 milk, but I did not look at it until after it expired on 4/20. I don't have the app on my phone anyway.

Jewel has Prego on sale for $1.50 right now, and I have a bunch of $.50 off Prego coupons, but I still have two bottles of Rao's that I got for $3 a piece over a year ago at Jewel. I did open one of the bottles of the Rao's sauce that I had last month, and the sauce is really good, and is definitely worth $3. Prego is only worth $1 to me.

I am hoping I get enough tokens today to let me acquire a $15 GC. I never use the Shutterfly coupons, because I know they charge a ton for shipping. I got a free three months of Peacock Premium that I am going to sign up for. It would be nice if I won another one to give to somebody else. I'll be glad when the game is over, Nancy

    Hi,

I finally netted enough points for $25. credit.

I just read the details, it is for single use. I liked it better when a credit was loaded onto a visa card to be used as needed. It appears I need to spend $25 on my next grocery trip whether I need it or not.

Cathy, congratulations on making it to $25. I was at $20 2 years ago toward the end of the game when they "ran out" of $20 gifts. Not sure how you run out of an online credit.

No French bread in all those tickets. I have an 89 cent French bread J4U which I may use. We really prefer Mulino di Valenzano meter-long French but it's not always convenient. And no free donuts, either! Or free container of salt - anyone remember that one?

Cathy yes you do have to spend the whole $25 in one transaction. I would have no problem doing that, but I don't go to Jewel more than once a week, and the only other store I go to very often is Whole Foods, and I usually don't spend much more than $5 at Whole Foods. I buy peanut butter there, bananas, and plain yogurt, and Amylu sausage when they have it B1G1F. I buy all of my toilet paper and paper towels at Jewel.

I won the box of salt two years ago, and I still have not used it yet. It takes me five years to use up a box of salt. They don't have the free donuts and bagels this year because of COVID. I am sure they do not want all those hands reaching into the bins. I got lots of free bagels last year. A few years ago lots of people won a gravy mix. I passed on that, and they used to give away lots of online cooking classes. Last year I was able to accumulate enough tokens to get a $25 GC, and I won a $25 GC two years ago.

Some here will enjoy this situation:

I have $25 I need to spend in one swoop. I vastly prefered receiving a visa gift card, but this is contactless.

I have 70 Jewel points for this month, which only needs 30 points to reach an award point.

If I spend more than $30, I have a just4u coupon for another award point.

I need to spend $30 to fully use my award and received two bonus award points.

I am pretty sure I can manage this, though I never could align this as neatly as presented.
