Hi Cathy- Won't you have to spend $55 to get another reward? If you spend $55, and then the $25 GC comes off, then you will have your $30. I have a $2 off 4 Signature pastas J4U, and then I have a personalized price of $.50 on one pasta, and so I don't know if I can combine them and only buy four pasta, or if I need to buy five to use both of the coupons.

I went to the Wilmette Jewel on Green Bay today. They were out of the French bread, the blueberries and the turkey bacon, but I was able to get my $.99 strawberries, my free skippy, hamburger buns and Open Nature crackers. I got five Healthy Choice wraps that were supposed to be on clearance for $2, and they were bonus Monopoly tickets. After I checked out, I realized that I got charged $2.99 a piece for them. When I checked the shelf tag, I realized that there was a 4/20 expiration date on that price even though it said clearance. I considered asking at CS if they would give them to me for $2, but then I realized that because I got overcharged $5, I was able to use my $10 off $50 coupon I had on J4U.

I was supposed to get 32 Monopoly tickets today, and the cashier looked at my receipt, and then counted out the tickets. I just knew she did not give me 32 tickets. She only gave me 13 tickets. I then went to CS where the woman there gave me my extra 19 tickets.

I now have enough tokens to get a $10 GC. I also won another bottle of water, two cartons of sour cream, several Shutterfly coupons, and a free O Organics seasoning mix. I also got two coupons I might use. Hopefully they will have double tickets all next week too, and I will get enough tokens to get a $15 GC. I will be glad when the game is over.

I have a Just4U coupon advising I will get an award for spending $30. That's why I will aim for it.

It happens I have 70 points in the monthly point system, which needs 30 points to get an award.

By spending $30, I will have cleared the $25 cash award from my 'winnings.' By spending $5 over and above, I will satisfy the monthly Jewel point system AND the Just4U $30 purchase requirement for a bonus award.

    I am not spending $55.

Tomorrow's ad is somewhat of a dud, for me at least. The coupons include 99 cent eggs which were 49 a couple weeks ago and $1.49 Pop Tarts which were 99 cents in early April. I guess inflation really is here!

    And no Saturday Sampler.

Hopefully they will have double tickets this weekend. I just checked my personalized offers, and I got the $1.49 sugar, $.99 milk, $.99 strawberries and $.29 eggs again. I also got $.99 butter, $.77 red seedless grapes, and $.99 iceberg lettuce

I just checked Jewel's Facebook page, and it looks like there are no double tickets this weekend for the Monopoly game. The game ends on 5/4. Nobody has won the million dollars yet. Last year they had tickets left over, and so they continued to hand out tickets three days after the game was supposed to end. I've got a feeling they are going to do that again this year. I don't think as many people are playing this year.

When is the best time to get the French bread? When I go there in the late afternoon/evening, they are out of it. I have a ton of free coupons for it, along with the water ones. I won the O Organics seasoning mix last time. Has anybody tried it?

I just heard on another board that some Jewel stores are out of tickets, and that the rest of the stores have been told to distribute them all by 5/4.

I went to the Wilmette Jewel on Green Bay tonight, and even though I only bought 13 items, and spent $37, according to my receipt, I was eligible for 24 Monopoly tickets. The cashier did not ask me if I was playing the game, and I thought maybe they were out of tickets, and I asked him if they were out. He reached into a drawer, and pulled out 55 tickets for me. I won another sour cream, a box of kleenex, another bottle of water, a Shutterfly mug, and $1. I also got a bunch of coupons, and I might be able to use three of them. I also got three Redbox offers that I probably won't use, and 92 tokens. Now I just need 8 more tokens to receive a $25 GC, but they only have $477,000 left for GC. Jewel was out of strawberries tonight, and so I might go back there before the game ends to get some, and hopefully get some more tickets.

Similar here: my receipt read 24 tickets, I was given 54.
Far too many Shutterfly wins, that stuff's useless.
I've been trying to cut down on water bottle use, Jewel's not helping.
I need an occasion to feed bread pudding to a crowd to use all the french bread I've been winning.
I don't have enough lips in this house for the lip balm.

But it's been fun. And they accomplished their goals in that I tried a couple brands I ordinarily wouldn't when the price was within a couple cents, just to get the token. I do miss the silly board, but I can't imagine anyone wanting to touch game pieces you lick anymore.

Actually a lot of seniors are not playing the game this year because it is too complicated. They go I don't have a smart phone, and I enjoyed the board. It is all online, and in previous years you could do the majority of it without going online. Yes you can enter the codes by hand, but a lot of people don't realize it. I only won one lip balm which I have not redeemed yet. I might do that soon. The three nail clippers I won I will never need, and so I will not redeem those, and every time I go to Jewel they are out of French bread. On another board I post, somebody said that she won 7 loafs of French bread, and she asked them if they could set them aside for her, and the store did. Apparently she had some sort of family gathering that she brought them to.

A friend of mine that used to just open up the tickets, and see if there were any coupons or free items she could use, has not opened up a single ticket yet because the game sounds too complicated. I might offer to go through the tickets with her to help her sort them out. She finally signed up for J4U six months ago, after all the years I had been raving about it.

I am supposed to go to a family reunion on 6/29, and I will save the water for that, but that is if it happens. My cousin set the date at Christmas time, and I have not heard from her since then. It is being held in Michigan where there are currently lots of COVID.

I went to Jewel again today, and they were out of strawberries again, but I got something else I needed, and the cashier did not ask me if I was playing Monopoly, and I asked her if I could have some Monopoly tickets, and she gave me 105 tickets. I won another five bottles of water, a lip balm, a Daisy sour cream, a potato salad, another nail clipper, a Peacock premium membership, $1, and lots of Shutterfly. I also got enough tokens to get my $25 gift card. There are only $175,000 worth of gift cards left. I did not get any French bread this time. I might go there again tomorrow to see if I can get some $.99 strawberries and some more tickets.

A friend of mine has a son who lives at Misericordia, and because of the pandemic, he has not gotten any speech therapy, and so she has been getting Monopoly game pieces at Jewel, and her son has been helping her open them up and doing the pick three to help his speech. She said the Howard Jewel gave her a whole box of cards, and she has been to several other Jewels recently to get tickets. She has won lots of bottled water, and she lives in Chicago, but has been getting the free water in Evanston, because Chicago charges $.05 per bottle of water.

I just checked the shop, play, win website, and they are out of Jewel GC currently. They might get more in though, and they are currently out of gas/grocery rewards. They still have individual items you can use your tokens on, but I think there is a limit of one item per account. This means that you can only get one package of pasta, but you can get one of something else. You can also enter your left over tokens in the sweepstakes. I never use them for that, because I feel like I have also zero chance of winning $1,000. Today is the last day you can get tickets.

Apparently there was some sort of glitch concerning the graham crackers where it just disappeared for a lot of people. If anyone did clip it before it disappeared Jewel will honor it.

The fact that it was never posted on their sale ad along with the Evolve mention leads me to believe it was an error on Jewel's part. These saturday samplers are scheduled weeks in advance. It could be that the graham crackers were supposed to be offered in the weeks to come and that an employee just mistakenly entered them by mistake.

Hi- Has anybody heard if Jewel is changing their mask policy? I just checked their Facebook page, and I did not see anything about it. It would be hard to determine who has been fully vaccinated anyway, unless you ask to see their vaccine passport.

The city of Evanston has just revised their mask policy, but they are going to let the individual stores decide if they want to relax their mask policy, and allow people who are fully vaccinated to enter the store without a mask. The city is still going to require masks for large gatherings such as the farmer's market, and for all city buildings including the public library.

I got basically the same personalized prices on my J4U today. The only thing I did not get was the $.99 butter. I have gotten the $.29 eggs, $.99 strawberries, $1.49 sugar and $.99 milk for probably two months straight. The only deals that I claim every week is the milk and strawberries. I also got $2 off on Hills Brothers coffee, but I do not know if it is on sale this week.

    HI,

I visited my Monopoly account to find five points unused. I went over to the charity to use them there.

I did a quick scan to see all the games are over as well as most food stuffs are gone. Of course, there is lots of water still available.

I never see any nail clippers on the rack, though my account says I have at least five to collect. I bet those will come out of the dark next week.

It only took me 2 visits to different stores to find the illusive nail clippers and Open Nature liquid hand soap. But that was in the far suburbs.

On another note, it looks conceivable that this week's coupon $1.99 pork tenderloin is not solution-added. Here's what the online product description claims:
    Pork Roast, Loin Tenderloin, Whole

Natural pork. No artificial ingredients - minimally processed. Product of USA.

I had 102 tokens left, and I was going to use them in the sweepstakes, but I never got around to it. There was basically nothing left that I wanted in the items still available. I take it there is no Saturday sampler this weekend?

I was on the Jewel Facebook page yesterday, and a customer was wondering when Jewel was dropping the mask requirement. There were several people there who said if Jewel still requires masks for everyone, they will just go to another grocery store that does not require masks. Which grocery stores do not require masks now? I was just in Whole Foods and they still require masks. One gentleman said that 1/3rd of the customers at his Jewel are not wearing masks, and they are able to get away with it. The problem is that a lot of people who have not been vaccinated will lie and say they have.

Which location did you observe this?

The sense I get is stores are going by whatever the local jurisdiction allows or does not allow.

An aside: I was in Chicago today. On the drive in, the signs above the road asked people coming from COVID hot spots to check out the city's website.

On the way home: there was no more mention of COVID. It was drive times and solid advice not to drink and drive.

There were lots of cars everywhere I went. I saw lots of cars parked at the lakefront.

In all the stores I visited, everyone wore a mask.
