I got the Jalapeno Cilantro flavor.
It should just be called Cilantro/Lime. It's nicely citrus-y, and cilantro-y. No jalapeno notes at all - not even like a jalapeno essence. I cracked it open to use as a sauce for some falafel sandwiches. I like it. Would never even think of paying for it, however.

I found it oddly curryish, more coriander seed than cilantro leaf. Tasty though, v and rich enough as a dip. It'd work in a turkey sandwich.

    Joel,

Would you buy it or figure out how to make it?

    Nope.
It's not that special, and I'm not looking for lower-carb alternative foods. I got it because it was free and I was curious. The biggest reason it won't be a regular is that SueF won't eat anything cauliflower, no matter how disguised.

Actually, now that you mention it -
It's now gonna be used as a sort of raita in the near future. Good call!
I'm also planning on using it as a saucy top for some grilled chicken tostadas, too.

Ignore the '99 cent coupon' on the dressing picture. It was the best picture I could find. Some varieties of the dressing may be excluded. Check the Jewel app or website before making a special trip

It was an error on Jewel's part. If you clipped it early in the morning they were honoring it. If not, you're out of luck. The good news is that it may be offered next week.

The Jewel app prompted me to add a payment method a couple weeks ago. They require a linked bank account, as opposed to a credit/debit card number. Unless touching things goes back to being a major worry for the 'rona, I'll probably stick with the credit card, earning miles I won't be traveling on any time soon (yes I know that costs the vendor).

I got a coupon in my J4U for a free Sig Select pizza, including the fancy "rising crust" ones. I always keep a few of these in the freezer for the covid homeschool lunch of cheap, trashy frozen pizza and bagged salad, which seems to happen at least once a week these days. It's just my opinion that any frozen pizza that is not an HRI (original crust,) is basically all the same, so, when nothing else is dirt cheap, I turn to the Signature Select "Supreme" or "Spicy Italian Sausage" because they are the tallest midg...er...little person?

This is my long winded attempt at saying - check your coupons, maybe you got a freebie, too?

I haven't gotten an offer for a freebie in a few weeks now. I go to the store and they have a rack of the Saturday specials, but I asked, and they said unless I get the email and click on it, I don't get the freebie. So is it sporadic? Or maybe because I don't always shop at the same store? I did an online "chat," and all customer service could say was "I really don't know."

In order to get the Saturday sampler, you have to sign into your J4U, and it should be there. Jewel used to send out emails about the Saturday sampler, but I have not received an email for a couple of months. Concerning the free pizza, only people who buy that pizza occasionally get the free coupon for it. I rarely buy frozen pizza, and so I never get a deal on pizza. I did get a personalized price this week on Thomas english muffins and hot cocoa mix and a few other things.

The free spinach and $1.49 milk, and a few other deals such as $.99 chicken breast are generated when you enter in a few specific zip codes, and so if you happen to shop at one of those zip codes you get the deals. I know one currently is for a store in Des Plaines.

Everybody gets the $.25 baby carrots though this week

When you sign into J4U there will usually be a separate 'Saturday Sampler' category on the left side list of categories.

    Hi,

You need to register for a Just4U account. You use your phone number to access.

You get an email on Wednesday highlighting the better deals, which I usually do the one-click to drop into my account.

I don't think you need a purchase history, you simply need to join in. Many of us are obtaining similar items, it is not as custom as it implies.

Yesterday, I was at Jewel for the third time in four days. I got the 'word of the day' product and picked up all the loss leaders. According to Jewel, I spent less than $5 and 'saved' just over $18.

I don't usually go to Jewel this frequently. I have a strained muscle, which needs stretching whether I like it or not. I am not willing to walk around the neighborhood, but I will go to Jewel to walk around there. It is my version of retail therapy. :D

The Saturday Sampler and other coupon deals are in the J4U app. Other freebies are offered through the occasional Word of the Day. I rely on Artie or Dave to post those here, but I do know Jewel will announce it on Facebook (and likely other social media).
