My son in law, who lives in England, loves Mallomar ( https://www.amazon.com/Mallomars-Pure-C ... rs+cookies ) cookies. They do not seem to be available in London. We are going there this Friday ( second grandchild was born last week ) and would like to bring him some. We have tried around town and cannot find them. Short of buying them on Amazon, does anybody know of anywhere in the Chicago area that carries these cookies?

Walmart is showing them on their website. You gotta schlep out to Algonquin to pick them up.

    HI,

Woodman's manages carry full lines of products or at least not as edited. You may want to call them.

Try the Happy Foods on Devon & Central. And stop in at the new Elephant Thai while you're there, just 'cuz.

Thank you. Unfortunately, Woodman's doesn't carry them and Walmart Algonquin is out of stock and I couldn't find any other Walmarts that even claim to carry them

Thank You In checking out some of the stores from your search, I ran into a Nabisco rep who told me that Mallomars are not in production this time of year.

    Very Spooky.

A subplot on tonight’s The Good Doctor was a search by two stoned doctors for a store selling Mallomars.

I didn't ask her. If I can't get them by this Thursday, I really don't care.

A brand spokesman says the cookies are still only sold September through March, to maintain tradition.

I saw the Good Doctor on Monday. They ended up calling uber because they were too stoned to drive, and they were going to make the rounds to see who had them in stock, but then the Uber driver asked why they were looking for them, and the older doctor said that a girl that he took a liking to in high school loved them, and he wrote a nasty note in her yearbook, and he wished he could apologize. He then found out that she lived in Portland, and the Uber driver drove them to Portland which was a 10 hour drive. He then apologized to her while he was eating the cookies that she happened to have.

At the Highland Park Jewel, there is a display of Mallomar cookies just left of the south entrance. These are priced at $4.99.

I wish we could buy some and bring them to London. Unfortunately, in these times traveling to England to see the grandchildren is not a possibility. The almost 2 year old thinks we just exist inside a phone.

    Hi,

I have friends whose daughter, and their only granddaughter, are posted at a US Embassy.

My friend reads stories to her granddaughter daily via a zoom-like application. Be inspired and give it a try!

When I went to Moscow in the 1980s, it was like closing the door on one life and taking up another. If the internet and capabilities we enjoy today existed, I would have been a lot happier.

Seen at Jewel in Highland Park for $5.99 a box, a dollar more than last year.

The Kids variant of the Great British Baking Show, they made a variant of Mallomar cookies. Messy!

Had my first Mallomars yesterday after buying a box at the Jewel on Touhy, in Niles. Don't have the receipt, but I wanna say it was maybe $2.49. I can tell you I would have walked past them if they'd been priced at $5.99.

Took my first bite and wondered what the attraction is. They're okay, but nothing special. Maybe if you grew up with them, they'd have a different appeal.
