Does anyone know where I can buy homemade flour tortillas in the NW suburbs?
    Thanks!

While not homemade have you tried the uncooked ones at Costco? You cook them to order and the nuttiness of the wheat and the lightly toasted texture (up to you) are a solid second place to homemade.

I don't know where exactly you are in the NW burbs but if it were me, I'd go to Carnicerias Jimenez in Wheeling. Occasionally, you'll see some homemade-like tortillas there but what they do always have is a variety of excellent, fresh, locally-made tortillas that are delivered perpetually (probably daily).

I'll second Jimenez. I've bought theirs a few times. They are probably just fine, and maybe even good for plenty of ppl. My "Gringo" palate likes El Milagro "caseras - fajita" more. They are fluffier/thicker than their regular ones, and they have a little chew to them as well. Just a thought for a sub if you've never had them. I always mean to try the Costco ones everyone is recommending, but I wind up forgetting.

Not sure if this is far enough north for you, but I would highly recommend calling ahead and placing a to-go order for a dozen flour tortillas from El Pollo Vagabundo in Northlake. I love flour tortillas, and they have (by far) the best homemade version I have had in the Chicagoland area.

Oh, yeah. They are definitely great. Good call.

It's not really retail. They don't have pre-packaged tortillas for sale. But they will sell you a take-out order with just tortillas. Or at least they would pre-COVID, I have not been there since the pandemic started. That's why I suggested calling ahead.
