As much as I love baking, I haven't found a truly great chocolate fudge recipe that turns out really creamy instead of slightly grainy. Part of it, I'm sure, is user error, but I can't help but think there must be a recipe that will work better. Can anyone share a really great recipe for fudge? Thanks!

I used to make this when I was a kid:

and my dad complained because it wasn't grainy.

Thanks! I also got a rec for the Carnation milk recipe, so maybe old school is the way to go.

When I was a wee young lad, my grandmother made fudge for “special occasions.” As I recall, it was quite chewy and delicious. She never shared the recipe. She always made it when nobody was around.

After my grandmother died, my mom dug around her kitchen stuff to decide what to keep or give away. Voila! She found an index card with the fudge recipe. She made a copy for me and my sisters. After a bit of detective work, one of my sisters figured out it was the same fudge recipe from the side of a Hershey’s cocoa container.
