Heh, I've bought these on at least 4 visits. They're the reduced fat turkey weinies, 14 oz, and sold frozen solid which stops the clock, right? The one in Des Plaines on Oakton imposed a limit of four per purchase but my home store in Harwood Heights keeps it real with [Edit: no] such limit.

Kinda sorta. I think some stores charge sales tax on the full price of items even with a coupon to reduce the price. Maybe that's not how it's supposed to work but they do anyway. And certainly sales tax is charged when paying with a merchandise return credit.

At Menards, I can "buy" a $1/free-with-rebate item using a rebate check, then use the resulting rebate check to buy another $1/free item ad infinitum without spending anything other than postage. Which makes me wish they'd come up with an electronic rebate submission system.

Yeah, I've got a bunch in the freezer. I guess they'll eventually get freezer burned or rancid if left too long. Time to dust off the fondue pot & bbq sauce!

With postage being, what $0.62, now, that is only a $0.38 savings. If postage gets much higher, it won't be worth it!

True, but you can mail a bundle of receipts together. I recently did $200+ which makes the 62¢ worth it.ImageAnd they're not super fussy about the mail by date.

Oh good. For some reason I didn't think of bundling them like that, but then I don't have the patience or organizational skills to coupon. Add to that, I don't do apps.

This is a terse reminder for now. I am headed out of here now for an event at the Revolution Brewpub, and tomorrow I will also be out-&-about at Metropolitan Brwg. and the Beer Temple.
But I do want to get on record that this is the week a bunch of fast food outlets include coupons. Burger King's has coupons with lower prices than the previous coupons.
It appears this is also a week for digital coupons from both Jewel-Osco and Tony's Fresh Market. At Jewel-Osco, I see myself buying the Michelina's entrees and the Chex Mix bags.
Both chains have B1G1F for Entenmann's donuts, and $5.99 for 12-packs of 12-oz. bottles or cans of Miller High Life (must buy 2). Tony's is offering Leinenkugel's 12-packs of 12-oz. (probably bottles) containers for $10.99. Leinie's Bock should be coming out any day now. I would buy that.
    One more element I can put in here now. I have images of a bad deal from Aldi! :!: I instruct you to not buy it. It is the 'replacement' for its apple or cherry lunchbox pies. They put six pies which are half the size in a box with lots of space, and charge what amounts to 41¢ for each. {I bet Mashup Mom is not going to mention it.}
There will be a succeeding reply with more details.

Looks like Butera is finally done with stale sale smokies. Pastrami remains @ $1.49 per tub. There's also $1.25 Italian bread for when you get bored with Jewel's 99¢ French bread, or want to reenact the Napoleonic wars with loaves. The Italian stuff is pretty darn good in an unfussy way - several times my kid and I ate most or all of a loaf on the way home from the store.

A note on Mariano's vs da Jewels: Gardetto's are a big sale at Jewel @ 99¢, at Mariano's big deal at $1.49. Albertsons trying, Kroger just coasting.

Here is the Weekly Flyer supplement. This is week #45. I have bonus content this week which I found mere hours ago.

After the "Spirit of Revolt" event at Revolution Brwg. ended, I went back to Milwaukee Ave. and caught the #56 bus north, heading for Sleeping Village. I exited the bus at Hamlin Ave. and proceeded north. Hamlin Ave. is a one-way southbound side street here. I came upon a dwelling with two weeks of uncollected flyers on its stoop. Knowing there were fast food coupons therein, I scooped it up. (How did I know it was this week's flyer? The other package was wet and heavier from precipitation.)
Surprise, surprise. This flyer package [Area: 0259 Rte: V60618M1] has different flyers. (But sadly, still including Menards.) I will return to this.
But first, here is what is in the package left here in 60641.
The outer sheath: T, G, U, T. There are two new advertisers this week. "T" is a home security system installation corporation. "U" is a manufacturer of window shutters, shades, & blinds. "T" has gone for both sides of the sheath, with different toll-free telephone numbers for the same offer. Page 1 has a QR code for "F", and the NCMEC kid they want to find this week is a male who ran away from home from Salt Lake City, UT. when he was seventeen in 1982. You know what? I can actually understand why a 17-year-old would runaway from home in Salt Lake City in 1982. But I will be implicit on this topic.
Inside - the fast food coupons are from Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken (again ~ this time it is the small booklet), Popeye's, and Subway. Not Wendy's; their coupons expire on the 5th; they may be in next week's flyer.
Some of the prices on Burger King's coupons have decreased.
The Family Bundle has gone from $17.99 to $16.99 (7054).
The two Original Chicken sandwiches + 2 medium fries from $6.99 to $6.49 (4503).
The double cheeseburger meal from $5.49 to $4.99 (6594).
    Eight-piece chicken nuggets + large fries from $3.99 to $3.49 (6870).
Nine piece chicken fries + large fries from $3.99 to $3.49 (4261).
    • Jewel-Osco
    • Tony's Fresh Market (the 5 NW side stores)
    • Cermak Produce #2
    • Cermak Fresh Market #18 & #16
    • Cricket mobile phone service (iPhone 14)
    • Menards
I mentioned some of the deals I espied in the Jewel-Osco and Tony's Fresh Market adverts. However, it is here that I revert to informing you what was in the flyer package I scarfed from north Hamlin Ave.

    The outer sheath: M, H, D, B.
    • Jewel-Osco
    • Tony's Fresh Market (the 5 NW side stores)
    • Cermak Fresh Market #18 & #16
    • Cermak Fresh Market #6 (4234 N. Kedzie)
    • Pet Supplies Plus
    • Food 4 Less :!:
    • Mariano's
    • Cricket mobile phone service (iPhone 14)
    • AT&T Fiber internet service (300 Mbps offered - faster speeds mentioned)
    • Subway (coupons)
    • Pizza Hut (coupons) :!:
    • Menards
I mentioned the Michelina's 99¢ digital coupon at Jewel-Osco. Food 4 Less is straight-off selling it at $1.00 each without any limit. As I compare and contrast the Food 4 Less flyer with that of its corporate sibling Mariano's, I glimpse deals at Mariano's which I wonder if it might also be similarly priced at Food 4 Less. One example being Stouffer's or Lean Cuisine entrees for $2.50. Another being a digital coupon for Smart Ones entrees 99¢ - limit 5. However, the Mariano's digital coupon for
Chex Mix snacks is not as good as that from Jewel-Osco [$1.49 - must get at least five ~ incl. other foodstuffs v. 99¢ - limit 3]
There is something in this Mariano's ad which flabbergasts me. It is offering Snyder's of Hanover pretzel varieties (10-12-oz. bags) as a digital coupon for $3.99. But just this past week, I was able to buy Snyder's of Hanover's pretzels in the same size bags at Dollar-and-a-quarter-Tree for guess-how-much?! I could get 3 for the price of 1 and have remnant change.

As teased, here is the 'bad deal' from Aldi. The big box hiding six 2-oz. mini cherry pies and selling for $2.49. Do not buy this (or its apple variant). Image Image Image

Week #46: I and my nose are off and running.

    The outer sheath: A, K, S, N.
Yes, yes. Burger King has more coupons (the 10 with the lower pricing - valid through 7 May 2023+).

    • Jewel-Osco
    • Tony's Fresh Market (the 5 NW side stores)
    • Cermak Fresh Market #18 & #16
    • Cermak Produce #2 (4401 W. Armitage)
    • Centŕo Fresh Market [2-week advert]
    • Verizon home internet (Speeds unmentioned)
    • AT&T Fiber internet service (5 Gbps speed mentioned - 300 Mbps primarily offered)
    • Menards

There are two Vericast booklets. The first is mostly vitamin and skin care coupons. The second is more of the same. But, there are coupons for breakfast cereals (to 16 April,) a nutritional drink (to 30 April), and chocolate bars (to 31 March).

I do not glimpse anything here which makes me want to shop any grocer this week. Jewel-Osco is still advertising the Lean Cuisine frozen entrees for $3.99. When a competing market is | was asking only $2.49, this is a 'bad deal' which should not even be mentioned. The regular price for them at Walmart Super was $3.87.
Maybe the offer for Green River soda - but $1.25 for 1-Liter is very expensive. :x
If Crush had some sensibility, it would reintroduce Crush Lime in 12-oz. cans. It tasted exactly like Green River, and you could find it on sale with frequency.

+ = I reference the Reddit subthread where it is scribed BK employees do not check the expiration dates on any coupons you hand them.

This is what was delivered to 60641. I really quiz why we do not get Food 4 Less and Mariano's flyers which do go to 60618. :?:

    Hi,

Heinen's flyer has never returned to the weekly flyer mailing in my area.

Today for the first time, I saw their digital flyer link on facebook. I don't usually check their website, like I do Jewel, Mariano's, Lewis Market, Shop and Save, Jerry's and Park Packing.

I did go to Lewis Market prompted by their flyer. I did not like the look of their frozen honeycomb tripe. I paid 50% more for fresh honeycomb tripe.

    Regards,

The only things that are worth buying at Jewel this week, are the brownberry bread, the heads if cabbage, the Kemp's frozen yogurt, and a few things on the $.99 sale. I'll also get a gallon of milk.

Pudgy you were right by Mariano's when you went to the Walmart in Skokie on Monday. You could have gotten the Lean Cuisine there for 4/$10. I ended up getting a couple of Healthy Choice frozen dinners for $3, and one Michelini. Jewel does have the Smart Ones dinners on sale for 3/$7 right now.

Incorrect. There are well more items worthy of purchasing. Such as $10.99 30 pack of PBR, $4.99 UTZ pretzel rods & daffodils.

Yup on the daffodils. Once in a while those are imported from Ireland. The Utz barrels aren't in the 4 page printed flyer we got, they're in the 8 page larger one. Also a very rare appearance of a paper coupon: $1 off 5lb cases of Streit's matzos @ $4.99. I'll probably forgo the coupons and pick up a case of Yehuda. Often the Kroger stores have the 5 box packs even cheaper, but they're not in Marianos ad yet.

Speaking of Marianos, some better-than-lately dairy prices in their flyer: 99¢ half gal milks as opposed to $1.29, and the return of $1.99 butter.

Yeah, I don't think I've seen Limit 1 with card before. Usually it's limit 5 on a coupon. It's conceivable that it will limit to 1 per card number, but I doubt it. And there's a workaround for that anyway.

I espied the Mariano's. I do not have its frequent shopper card (just the Food 4 Less one), and I otherwise do not have an account with it that I could add anything digital to it. :( Nonetheless, I would appreciate getting its (& Food 4 Less') advert in my package. I have scribed how difficult it is to view its flyer on Flipp. :P
I got the for U pricing on the Michelina's entrees, and the Clyde's donuts. I wanted to buy the Chex Mix snacks, but that Jewel was completely out of all three brands.
At that specific moment, I decided to take a chance that the Walmart Super might have responsive pricing. I was not intending to stop there.
I have a bunch of Smart Ones in the freezers here. I paid only $2.00 each for them at Tony's.

I have a Fry's card, the Kroger affiliate in the Arizona area. I have used the card in nearly every Kroger affiliate to download digital coupons INCLUDING the Food4Less in El Centro, CA. I do know that last week that all of the free digital coupons that were redeemable at Fry's stores in Arizona worked at Columbus, OH Kroger stores. Of course, the Kroger store would need to carry the particular brand.

I also know that I have received Kroger points for every purchase at Food4Less and also received and redeemed the earned gas points.

The ONLY place where I have ever had problems using my Fry's card is at Kroger's test store in Anderson Township outside of Cincinnati. If I go to a live cashier, they want to have the great debate as to whether Fry's is a Kroger affiliate. I tell then to swipe my card and let it get rejected if I am wrong.

    The outer sheath: E, G, U, H.

    • Tony's Fresh Market (the 5 NW side stores)
    • Cermak Fresh Market #18 & #16
    • Cermak Produce #2 (4401 W. Armitage)
    • Burger King ( :!: again - for something being discontinued, it seems to make appearances frequently - the glossy page with 20 coupons - valid through 28 May 2023+)
    • AT&T Fiber internet service (5 Gbps speed mentioned, 300 Mbps primarily offered)
    • Menards

We have the Vericast booklet. I glimpse no coupons in which I am interested. But this also has the Family Dollar flyer (valid 12-18 March).

Let's see if there are any bargains in the stores this week. Tony's Fresh Market has the 16-count box of White Castle hamburgers for $9.99. Stouffer's frozen entrees are $2.99 (x 5), which is lower than what Jewel-Osco wants, but that is still not low enough. One gallon of white vinegar $1.99 (limit 2).
Jewel-Osco is still trying to get 3.99 for Stouffer's or Lean Cuisine. Why is it bamboozling? Jewel-Osco's "local" branding is a headress. It is actually a big national chain, just like Walmart or Food 4 Less. If Walmart can set its regular price at $3.87, Tony's on discount at $2.99, and Food 4 Less can put it on deep discount for $2.50, portraying 3.99 as a 'sale' price is a gouge. :x
I'm heading to the Food 4 Less advert on Flipp right now to see if it has resumed its sale price on that.
Hmmm. No mention of Stouffer's or Lean Cuisine in the Food 4 Less advert. I do espy a solid deal on Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches [up to the 20-count size] for $7.99, and 12-packs of 12-oz. cans of Mountain Dew or Starry soda for $3.99 (both digital). {I would locate an in-store scanner to see if this price might be valid for other Pepsi brands.} Entenmann's donuts are $3.50. I am still stocked with bagels and donuts, so I won't buy Entenmann's. Food 4 Less' store brand soda is only $2.99 per 12-pack (digital), so if you want to experiment to see if you can taste a difference (and maybe that difference is preferable), this would be the week. Red | Green | Black seedless grapes are 99¢-lb. [All the digital deals are valid up to five times in one transaction.]

    {I am checking the Mariano's advert. Why does Kroger make it this difficult to let me see what its stores are offering, when it gives this away in 60618? Are Cicero & North or Western & Roscoe that far away from 60641? :mad:}
It seems Mariano's is offering Michelina's frozen entrees for $1.00. I highly suspect this is also the sale price at Food 4 Less. But I think I have enough Michelina's, and now would prefer to stock up on Stouffer's or Lean Cuisine. If you shop there, let us know if it again overstocked Spicy Chicken Alfredo.
Spliced in here: A “thank you” to tjr that my Food 4 Less card will be valid at Mariano's.

Butera and Angelo Caputo have not yet provided their adverts to Flipp.

Kroger really needs to rethink its web presence in areas where there are multiple Kroger brands in the same area. I have the realistic option of shopping at Marianos, Food4Less, or PickNSave, maybe even MetroMarket. But I have to go to 4 different websites to see their ads. Fortunately I can use the same login at all.

And while I'm riled up, Marianos isn't trying very hard lately. $14.99 for the same crab legs Jewel had for $7.99 a couple weeks ago? And at Jewel, Pepsi is up to half the price of Goose Island.

Pudgym29, I was going to quip, the Albany Great Dane's are in the Atlantic 10 (Loyola Ramblers new conference, lets not talk about that quick exit of my alma mater), but I looked into what you meant by West and saw it is the West Region of the NCAA tournament you are talking about (hosted by the Siena Saints of the Metro Atlantic Conference)

I accidentally learned something today, the process of how it is determined who plays where. Each year they have different schools host the tournament locations and the East/West/North/South region designations are somewhat meaningless to where the actual games are played. With more schools in the South and East, those conferences are somewhat easier to align with the location of where the sectional is played.

In 2021, the "guidelines" where revised. Couldn't find if there have been changes since.
While the participating schools’ geographic proximity to the sites hosting preliminary rounds largely drives the committee’s bracketing decisions in a typical year, this year’s bracket will be mostly determined by the overall seed list, which is the committee’s ranking of the 68 teams participating in the event.

The method, commonly referred to as the S-curve, involves the same first step the committee would normally use, which entails putting the top four teams on the seed list in the four separate regions. From there, however, things will be different in 2021. The overall No. 5 seed will be placed in the same region as the overall No. 4. The overall No. 6 will be placed with the overall No. 3. The overall No. 7 seed will be paired with the overall No. 2, and the overall No. 8 will be in the same region as the top-seeded team. The next step would be to place the third-seeded teams, with the overall No. 9 seed joining the Nos. 1 and 8 seeds in one region, the No. 10 seed being placed with the Nos. 2 and 7 seeds, the No. 11 seed going to the same region as the Nos. 3 and 6 seeds, and the No. 12 seed joining the Nos. 4 and 5 seeds. The first quadrant of tournament teams is completed by placing the fourth-seeded teams in each region as follows: the overall No. 13 with Nos. 4, 5 and 12; No. 14 with Nos. 3, 6 and 11; No. 15 with Nos. 2, 7 and 10; and No. 16 with Nos. 1, 8 and 9. The process repeats itself for teams seeded 5-16, using the overall seed list to place teams in their respective regions.

Thanks for the push to learn something new.

(Color removed so Rocky Dennis can read it)

    Sorry, back to the Flyer:

60544 Tonys is only for Berwyn, Joliet/Plainfield, Joliet, and Hanover Park $0.99/# pork shoulder has my name all over it on their "Truckload Sale" ($1.99/# beef shanks will be picked up as well)

$1.99/gal white Vinegar is not bad, we use it in everything in our half Filipino household

And for Chicagoans, it is proper to call this Tony's location by me Joliet/Plainfield, its a Plainfield address for postal purposes within Joliet boundaries for City Services. Things are different out here in corn country :)

The 99¢ pork shoulder is at the northern Tony's too, along with $1.99/lb Galbani mozzarella in 5# blocks. Also the $1.99 large pack beef shank. Did that last time, some of the hidden pieces were very bony.

    Hi,
Pizza and baked ziti are both in our regular rotation, and we prefer the “ non fresh” mozz, so we made a run to this store. Turns out that expiration date was early May on the 5# blocks. Good news is that the service deli sold it @$4, $2 less than Jewel, etc…, so we got 2#.

For all my discussion of the Weekly Flyer, it is infrequent I actually shop from it. That just happened.
I tried exploring Tony's Fresh Market's W-WW site, but it would not give me the key data as to what a specific store had in stock, and what was its final price. So I sent myself on the CTA route #77 Belmont bus to the store at 5630 W. Belmont Ave.*
The easier to scribe is better; so I shall inform you I wanted to buy the Stouffer's frozen entrees, which necessitated at least five, and the 'Club'-sized 16-pack of White Castle hamburgers (not the cheeseburgers) (When Food 4 Less puts this box on sale, it usually overstocks the cheeseburgers.).
Tony's did not have a lot of varities of Stouffer's, but I was able to pick two which I have previously eaten: the meatloaf, and the spaghetti with meat sauce.
If you shop this Tony's store, look closely at the 'Best by' dates on the White Castle hamburgers. Some of the boxes were getting precariously close to that element.
Here's the receipt showing how much I saved. You do have to enter your telephone number in order to get the points, but it does not have to be a mobile telephone number. Click on the image to see it enlargened in another tab. Image
    Total spent = $25.25

("*" = There is a Tony's within walking distance of the abode here; but its plaza does not have appealing food options; and when I venture out, I usually bring a foodstuff back to the abode. At Belmont & Central, there are choices. I chose a chorizo burrito from Tacos El Tio #2.)

FWIW, I have pretty good luck keeping block style mozzarella well past its use by date. I vacuum seal recipe size pieces, 1/3 or 1/2 lb. Then it's a choice: Simply keep it in the fridge, where it will keep for a year or so but will develop a slight provolone-like tang, or freeze to keep the fresher taste. Some diners at our house enjoy the tangy flavor while others dislike the tang quite a bit. I haven't noticed any big disadvantages to freezing mozzarella other than a little surface wetness weeping out on thawing, as long as it's used for projects where it will be fully melted.

Have noticed that when Tony's does these cheese specials often the dates are pretty close. Perhaps they get a bunch of excess from their wholesaler.
