Does anyone know of companies or people that you can hire to help with a party? Such as people to serve food, people to set up drinks, set up the table, put food out and even bring food. I think generally a catering company would do this but a lot of that at least around here is ordering food at a place like Mariano's and picking it up, or having a restaurant that caters deliver the food but all they do is deliver it they don't come in and set it up and clean up or help serve. Pls advise.

I am a proffessional cook and server working in Chicago and the northern 'burbs for over 20 years. I work for several caterers and private chefs as well as individuals who just need their own food finished and served or picked up from a restaurant or provider.
I am a bartender as well, with certification.
On larger events, I supply other servers as well, having been in the business for years, I have a good network of other reliable staff.
If you are interested I can be reached at 847-644-3079

Toria, this may no longer be timely information, but google "event staffing". One such agency in Lincoln Square is http://www.carolseventstaffing.com/private-parties. Maybe you can find an agency closer to your area. Regards, mrsm

I realize it's been a while since you've posted, but if you're still looking for in-home catering or staff I have a few suggestions.

First, I run a small event catering company called FIG Catering. We do many in-home parties and have trained staff that is accustomed to working in people's homes. That said we only provide staff if you are getting food from us.

If you are providing your own food and just need staff to assist with setting up, cleaning, etc. I suggest you contact Ambiente Chicago. Danielle, the owner, used to work for FIG and has some top-notch staff at her side.
