I just stumbled across a show called Paul Hollywood: City Bakes. It's on a YouTube channel called Tonic, that includes a bunch of other stuff, as well, but this is the show that was fun. Kind of Great British Bake Off meets No Reservations. Good food, all over. Makes me want to travel and eat.

Here's the episode from Jerusalem. https://youtu.be/hbHAJgSsWaw

Hi- On s Facebook group I belong to somebody posted this video from all recipes, about how you can purchase a birthday cake at McDonald's. The one purchased was a Ronald McDonald one. Apparently they have them there, but they are an off menu item, and so you have to ask for one. I think the cake costs $10.48 or somewhere around there. Here is the video.

Fun to watch. Thanks Cynthia. Your description, "British Bake Off meets No Reservations" is perfect.

Made me long for travel again too. Love the sounds, sites, hugs, and cultures from around the world. Just missing the smells!

In this past long ass time of no travel, and me sitting at home longing for beach and salt water, I happened across Landshark Outdoors, while perusing Youtube vids about fishing and eating, and Florida. https://www.youtube.com/c/LandsharkOutdoors/videos

In a nutshell, the host, Victor, goes on some kind of fishing, clamming, shrimping, or lobstering, or iguana hunting adventure, then filets or hacks up whatever he catches, cooks it, and asks his family / friends about the meal.

    - First off, he looks like he's all of 12 years old.
    - He and his family seems like they might be the nicest people on the planet.
    - He tries to make lots of varied ethnic offerings: Mahi Mahi Tikka Masala, Snapper thai curry, fish gyros, lots of sushi, and ceviche. But, so far, you can tell he needs a few better ethnic markets in the area. Definitely an A+ for effort tho. Fun to watch if you're into fishing and cooking, and nice people that are always smiling and having fun. They are livin the life I'm a bit envious of.
We cannot be friends if you do not know the difference between Mayo and Miracle Whip.

Scrolling back through this thread, I don't think this has been mentioned yet but a while back, my friend turned me on to Japanese Udon Soba, which isn't a cooking channel as much as it's pure, unadulterated food porn. It features great dishes and establishments, and is shot very nicely (on a Lumix GH5 with a Panasonic F2.8-4.0 H-E08018 Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens).

WARNING: Do not watch this channel when you're hungry! :D

Their most recent video, shot at a Chinese restaurant in Osaka, was almost too much to bear . . .

So many money $hots. Would love to know what the seasonings above the wok station are, and, I'm starving now.

Sugar, chicken powder, Sichuan Peppercorn, white pepper, MSG, cornstarch, salt, ?

Pretty sure the liquid on the far left is oil, or maybe Szechuan chili oil. I image there is Pixian doubanjiang, sesame oil, soy sauce, a few types of vinegar, soybean paste, rice wine, oyster sauce.

Plus a plethora of mundane to magic ingredients known only to 20-year tenure Chinese chefs.

Pure speculation on my part, all of the above.
