Did a quick search, and nothing showed up, so figured I'd start a thread that is kind of related to Today's Discovery -- but rather than hurray, this is more "seriously -- that is for sale?"

So just saw in the frozen pizza section at Target a pickle pie -- essentially a pizza, but made with "ranch sauce" and mozzarella and topped with sliced pickles and potato chips.

I think if someone served it, I'd taste it. After all, fried pickles are pretty good. And I can actually almost imagine someone making something like this while studying late at night and not having anything reasonable on hand. But the idea of buying a whole pizza with those ingredients didn't resonate.

Anyone else try one of these? Or find something else that makes you wonder who thought mass producing an item would be a good idea?

My kids have eaten at the Evanston location. Hoping to check them out soon.

Checked Bob's menu, and it doesn't mention ranch dressing or crumbled potato chips. And it's not frozen -- freezing and thawing potato chips is part of the issue.

But interested to learn that it exists in the "real world."

You're right, Bob's version does not include ranch dressing or potato chips. I saw your post and zeroed in on the pickle aspect. Didn't mean to cause any confusion.

It's apparently a collaboration with Ann Kim, a chef from Minniapolis who was featured on Netflix's "Chef's Table: Pizza" and is one of the pizzas served at her restaurant Pizzeria Lola.

Wasn't really confusion -- just didn't want you to think that the pickles were the issue. Really don't know how potato chips would survive the process and not just be mushy lumps.

Plus ranch dressing is what made me think it sounded like something cooked up in a college dorm. :)

I figured it had been introduced somewhere. The freezer case is not usually where things begin.

That said, I don't imagine this is the only dish out there that one would wonder about.
