    Alright,

This is the perfect place to bring the subreddit out in the open.

    This subreddit can be brutal.

But I am curious what you think of this scenario.

I don't believe the OP is AITA.

    Your turn!

    Huh?

What does AITA mean. Why does this person even continue to talk to this person.

This is what happens when you spend time on reddit. You forget the rest of the world has no idea that there's a whole subreddit, AITA that stands for Am I The A$!hole.

    Pardon.

I think her chef boyfriend is being totally rude. He is not giving her constructive criticism, and to put her down in front of her family is not okay. I agree that Gordon Ramsey is a lot nicer when he is not dealing with professional chefs, but is dealing with children or home chefs. I am not into reddit that much. I waste enough time on Facebook.

You know, if you clicked the thread, he left for the night after they had a huge argument. Perhaps he wanted out but thought with COVID couldn't really do it. And now, he has.

I'd say they're about equally at fault. His habit is annoying, but it's his shtick and she can't be all that surprised that he'd do it with her family present. His response was overly dramatic and lacking empathy that clearly she doesn't enjoy the scoring. If you're together for 16 months I'd like to think something this small shouldn't become a big deal.

    Hi,

I saw this earlier in the week about a Man faced dilemma over his wifes 'difficult' cooking habits. Your story is different, though in a somewhat similar vein.

I visited with a friend whose long time boyfriend died recently. He was an excellent cook. He also had deep pockets, who liked going to very nice restaurants regularly.

She observed he really like eating. One evening, they would be at a nice restaurant meal with wine pairings. The next night, it was meat and potatoes meal cooked at her home.

She recognized her skills were not equivalent to his, however his reaction was the same at every meal: pure enjoyment of his food.
