I love his book 660 Curries so much. It is in my top 5 cookbooks I use on a regular basis.

He has written a new book on the influence of Indian spices around the world, called the Curry Trail.

He is battling colon cancer. So he must have written the last book while undergoing treatment.

This hits me because my Dad died of this same disease. Get your colonoscopy done folks.

Raghavan Iyer, who as a young man left India for the United States clueless about how to cook even a simple potato curry and went on to teach America’s heartland how to prepare one of the world’s most complex cuisines, died on Friday in San Francisco. He was 61.
