    HI,

There is a missing link to the James Beard nominations from the Chicago area. There is a new category for the awards: websites. One nominated website is Spatullatta, whose creator has posted on LTHforum.

James Beard Nominations wrote:A new category—Webcasts on Food—was added to the James Beard Foundation Broadcast Media Awards, presented by Viking Range Corporation, to recognize the growing number of food-related webcasts. Entries were original programs produced for the Internet. The 2006 nominees in this category include All You Can Eat (www.pacificpalate.com), Hear and Now (www.here-now.org) and Spatulatta.com (www.spatulatta.com), the Awards’ first-ever nominated show with co-hosts under the age of 11. The broadcast media Awards are for television shows, radio shows, and webcasts on food and beverage aired in 2005.

The same entity has also made a film on artisinal cheese production, which will be the basis of a Chicago Foodways Roundtable program later this year.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Local winners: Trial lawyer and TikTok star Joanne Lee Molinaro was honored for her "Korean Vegan Cookbook."

The book prominently features her suburban immigrant parents, who attended the ceremony. She thanked readers for "seeing and hearing them, and making them feel like they are important enough to be in a book."

I went on a four-person tour of H-Mart with Joanne a few months ago. I knew she had a cookbook, I did not realize she was running for a James Beard.

She inspired by attempts at making rice with three different varieties.
