Now that some are vaccinated, and the weather is nicer, I wondered if anyone would be up for a Dessert Exchange/gathering?
I was thinking of my big backyard,
Let's do June 13, and a bit earlier than usual so we can avoid any evening showers.
The backyard has lots of nice trees, but can get some dappled sunlight as well.
Obbviously, the sun moves around, but if needed I do have a pop-up canopy...
If it's too hot or rainy we could move indoors.

LMK what folks think - if there's demand, I'm happy to host.

I may be able to attend. Trying to figure out if I'm going to make a trip up to the lake. I may leave on the 15th. My allergies have lessened a bit, but my cow's milk allergy is still going strong, so I probably won't be able to eat any of the desserts other than mine.

    Hi,

I am planning to bring a dessert from Farm to Table Desserts. It is available via Hoopla and is a Highland Park Library's Cookin' with the Books selection.

If you want to make a recipe and perhaps join the cookbook club discussion, it is June 15th at 7:30 pm.

No idea what I will make though!

    Hi all,

yes I was thinking 3 PM
    sounds delish Joan
I tucked some Lime-coconut bars in the freezer last week,
but may get ambitious and add something else.
Likely a salad and quiche for a light meal
There will be at least 1 vegetarian version.
Diane said she's going to bring her famous chicken salad... :P

It's been so fun to get to look through cookbooks again and ponder what to make. I'm thinking about mini strawberry shortcakes with buttermilk biscuits. I can keep the components separate so that people can take home strawberries and biscuits, but the whipped cream would obviously not hold up super well. I will keep pondering though.
