There is a cookbook swap taking place at the Robert Crown branch of the Evanston public library on 8/11 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. The library is located at 1801 Main in Evanston. Another cookbook swap is taking place on 8/28 from 3:00-5:00 at the same location. You can still come if you don't have any books to donate. I have a few books I am going to donate.

I went to the cookbook swap today, and there were a fair amount of cookbooks there. I donated four books, and I acquired two books at the swap. I got the Moosewood Restaurant cookbook of Desserts, and Jacques Pepin's Simple and Healthy Cookbook. The Jacques Pepin cookbook was originally a library cookbook. They also had Mark Bittman's Fish cookbook, and I was tempted, but when I looked over the book, I noticed that he added a lot of fat to the recipes, and so I decided to pass on it.

To get to the swap, you had to enter the library, and then go to a patio door that led to a garden. The swap was held in the garden. They are having a second cookbook swap on 8/28. If I decide that I do not want the two books I picked up today, I will donate them to the swap again. They had lots of copies of Taste of Home's Diabetic cookbook.
