Last minute change ... Pinto Thai changed their hours — they're now closed Mondays. But Bluestone, across the street, will be open for pub food. I hope everyone gets the note and will meet us there.

After a very successful lunch on the patio behind Lush, we'll be going across the street — to Pinto Thai Kitchen. I've never been there, but other LTHers have.

    A few (admittedly dated) quotes:
George R wrote:My business is only a few steps from Pinto Kitchen and we get take-out lunch from there about once a week. The heat is indeed tamed down though you can always ask for more. Some of the curries and the Spicy Basil have a reasonable amount of heat (though far from chili-head standards).

Service is friendly and the ingredients seem to be quite fresh. I've found the garlic chicken has nice flavor. My wife didn't particularly care for the cashew chicken and she gives thumbs down to the Pad Thai (lacks peanuts).
Tobermory wrote:On Central St. across from Bluestone there's a new-ish Thai place called Pinto Kitchen - it went into a space formerly occupied by a Chinese takeout spot. I've eaten there a few times and although they seem to serve the tamer side of Thai cuisine (along with some other Asian menu items) everything I've had has been very tasty and with quality ingredients and since there are only a few tables the service is very attentive.

Let's see how well it's held up on Monday, Nov. 14. Join us, for more ordering power, and more opinions about the joint. Street parking in the area usually isn't too tough, and it's only a few short blocks from the Metra UP-N Central Street Station.

There are meters along Central Street where the restaurant is. You can avoid having to pay by parking on the side streets, or by parking on Central west of Hartrey (one block west of the restaurant).

Though I closed my business nearly two years ago, I do get to Central Street occasionally. I was at Pinto Thai a few months ago, and I think my original post about it is generally valid, despite an ownership change.

Put me down for lunch on the 14th.
Where there’s smoke, there may be salmon.

Closed tomorrow too per a quick look at their Google profile. Which is weird since I ordered from them Tuesday Sept 27th.

The sign on the door said "Closed for vacation." We were speculating about what that might really mean.
