Bonjour! The LTH North Lunch Group is going French for the March outing. Not quite Esteemed member Jay suggested this spot. Let's check it out on the 20th. As always, bring a friend.

Hey--it's not Le Francais. But it's something different, pretty reasonably-priced overall, and the lunch menu looks appetizing. The times we've been there the staff has been attentive. In addition, they have a bakery onsite that we've used numerous times for carry out. They do a wonderful old-timey coffeecake, but by lunch time they're usually all gone. It'll be a fun time--count me in.

I can only say I'm a maybe because of my work schedule, but I hope I can join in. I recently attended a birthday party at Taste of Paris (about 25 people? in their private room), and thought the food, drinks, desserts, service, and all-around hospitality were perfect.

    Hi,

I just learned of a meeting I should attend at noon on March 20th.

I am out unfortunately. I had offered a ride to Cateme.

I was so looking forward to Taste of Paris.

    Start without me guys!

I will be driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas that day in time for March Madness. However, if Northwestern happens to be playing in Salt Lake City, then I will be heading through Vegas all the way up there.

And remember... pizza c'est pour la vie!

Bummer -- just discovered I'm in the same meeting as Cathy2 on the 20th. Any chance we can make this 1:30 instead of 11:30? Otherwise, I'll have to bow out, as well -- and hope you'll reschedule fro Taste of Paris in the future sometime.

Sorry - rescheduling to 1:30 won't work for me.

Everything turned out wonderfully at Taste of Paris. Amazing how I've lived here for 27 years, the restaurant at least 15, and I'd only been there twice to eat, couple more times at the bakery. As I said, it's not Le Francais--heard Rebecca's mention of Chef Banchet--but definitely falls into the category of 'better than you would expect'.

My shrimp & scallops risotto was stellar, which is why--I'm sorry--I didn't offer any out to anyone. I wanted to keep quiet and guard my food. French onion soup was a fine rendition, but just not up to my gold standard--yes--a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant--Mon Ami Gabi, either in Lincoln Park, Bethesda, MD or Las Vegas. All the same high quality, that's why Rebecca & myself were raving about the whole LEYE structure--it's definitely something to be admired.

And thanks fa'lettin me take home the rest of the pecan coffeecake, which was pretty darn tasty. Good food, good conversation for sure. We had some big brains going today! :D

ToP has some really good pastries at the libertyville farmers market on Thursdays during the season. Particularly the apple, cherry, and when available, peach turnovers. Also a decadent nutella danish.
