if no one objects, i'll be happy to host the next dessert exchange. i'd like to limit it to 10 people, so we can all squeeze around my dining table which seats 8...
i really enjoyed last month's white elephant game, but i don't want to repeat it; rather i'm inspired to suggest a COOKBOOK SWAP. if you have 1-2 books you'd like to share, i thought we could draw numbers and #1 gets first crack at choosing the cookbook they want. we can go through the group until all the books have either been traded, or we get hungry and want to move on to dessert, whichever comes first... newcomers welcomed, as always. bring 1 dessert to share and some containers to take home whatever we don't eat.

so glad you can make it laura and I'm glad you like the cookbook idea. I think if we keep it simple it should be a painless way to get one or two new cookbooks to read.

hi again, I know we are not REQUIRED to say what dessert we will bring, but since I am just coming off a big PI(e) Day bake (3-14), I am going to repeat a pretty tasty bake I recently made. Count me in for a Lemon Blueberry Struesel Pie (King Arthur Flour recipe). I thought it was pretty tasty. Hoping you all will too! :-)

i'm sure it'll be good. i'm feeling the same enthusiasm for a marvelous cake i made for the first time last night for a family dinner...so (i reserve the right to change my mind) i plan to make an orange cake with about 10 oranges in it from an obsessive english baker named nicola lamb...

I'm starting to think about what to make. I'm considering either the semolina cake or ricotta and sour cherry pie from Portico by Leah Koenig.

What a clever way to mix up our recipe repertoires. I have a few underused baking books that could use a new home. Maybe I'll finally discover the secrets to perfect macarons! For my contribution, I'm thinking of bringing my famous dark chocolate and raspberry tart. It's always a crowd pleaser with the rich ganache filling and buttery shortbread crust. Unless anyone has a special request? I'm open to suggestions! One thought on the cookbook exchange - maybe we could have people jot down the name of a favorite recipe inside the cover before swapping? That way the new owner has a personal recommendation to try first. Could be a fun way to learn the backstories behind the books too. Also, I know we have a few first-timers this round which is awesome! Perhaps we could do quick intros at the start so everyone feels welcomed? I'm happy to kick things off.printable calendar are particularly useful for planning, scheduling, and managing time effectively, serving as a tangible bank statement template reference that can be accessed offline.

oops, i missed this post yesterday. your recipe suggestion is a good one. i'll add you to the list.

Unfortunately I will have to bow out of this Sunday’s dessert exchange. I have a cold and I thought it would ramp down faster but it has not. I don’t want to cough on everyone. I will miss seeing you all and tasting the wonderful desserts. Until next time!

Joan, Thank you for yesterday’s wonderful Dessert Exchange. The trio of vegetarian salads were absolutely delicious (especially when paired with your delicious cornbread, soft butter and honey). I agree with Laura. Having a smaller group was actually kind of nice, allowing us to really enjoy each dessert and each other’s company. AND we are enjoying the lovely selections of dessert that I brought home. Win/win/win.

    Happy Earth Day today!
