Fifille, Octarine and I have reservations for January 31. You are welcome to join our table.

    hi everyone!

happy new year! gung hay fat choy! we are happily preparing for our annual chinese new year's feast again! the "rules" for this year's feast are now in effect. as usual, if you have questions, feel free to email me back with them, i will answer as best i can. in order to ensure that not everybody on the list is getting the question, just hit reply, not reply all. please be kind to other people's inboxes. i kinda cleaned my contacts box this year, so if i got you twice, i apologize. if you would like to be removed from our list, just hit reply and let me know. talk to you all soon and i hope to see everyone during the new year!

    feast rules:

    1. the feast will take place on friday, january 31, 2025 and saturday, February 1, 2025 (pick a night). we will start seating at 6pm and dinner will begin at 6:30pm.

    2. there will be 90 seats available each night. if we hit the maximum, you will be placed on a waiting list. we will let you know if you are on the waiting list.

    3. cost of the feast is $50/person, tax included. we will seat smaller parties together to create groups of 10 per table. you can buy the whole table if you are inclined.

    4. drinks and gratuity will be billed separately. if you do not make a purchase, we would prefer cash for the gratuity. we want to keep things simple for the servers to expedite the end of your meal. you may byo wine and the server will charge bottle fees at the end of the meal. bottle charges are $15/bottle (for bottles larger than 750ml, we reserve the right to charge a higher fee).

    5. seats are paid in advanced and non-refundable after sunday, January 24, 2025 at 5pm. cancellations will be given to those at the top of the waiting list. after that it will go on to the next party on the list. any party who cancels before 01.24.25 will get a full refund but please be advised we will only issue refunds in person. in other words, you must be standing in the store with your credit card to receive the refund.

    6. for those on the waitlist, if we get an early cancellation, we will start at the top of the list and work our way down as soon as possible. however, we have had some late cancellations in the past, including on the day of the feast. please be amenable to a short notice or even last minute notification.

    7. you will be able to start making reservations on wednesday, january 8, 2025 after 11am. you may pay in person (cash, visa, or master) or you can pay over the phone (visa or master only). we do not take any other credit cards. no checks are accepted. please do not call on thursday, as we are off and no one is around to take your call.

    8. the feast is "communal" style eating so everyone will be sharing the food on the table. if you buy the whole table, you are able to have up to 12 people at your table. however, we will not be responsible if there is not enough to eat. =) also be advised, if you decide to order "off menu", there will be a delay between when you order and when your food arrives. the kitchen's priority is to serve the feast first.

    9. the feast menu will not be posted until monday, january 20, 2025 on our website and Facebook page. please do not email asking what the menu is. i will not tell you and simply direct you to our website or Facebook page on 01.20.25.

    10. we do NOT have parking. be aware you should allow time to find parking. there is usually parking along some of the side streets and on broadway and argyle there is meter parking. the parking garage to the north of us may not be open to the public for paid parking, they are doing maintenance work. we will do our best to keep their updates posted, especially if they open in time for the feast. we have a loading zone in front of the restaurant. you will be able to drop off and pick up in front of the restaurant. please be sure to have your flashers on and do not take more than 15 minutes to drop off and pickup passengers where possible. there is always a chance you will get ticketed.

Yes! I'd like to join your table.

Do I need to call Sun Wah myself or are you making a list?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Need to call Kelly or Laura to reserve/pay and let them know you want to sit with me.

This will be fun! Potentially there are four more seats at this table.

Kelly wasn't available when I called. Would it be wise of me to call and double check that I'm at the table with all y'all?

They told me ( maybe it was Laura?) to call back after Kelly gets in, around 3 or 3:30.

A guest and I would like to join the table if there are still 2 seats left. Do I understand correctly that I should call the restaurant to pay and reserve the seats?

    Thanks

Yes, call Sun Wah to pay for your tickets. Kelly is keeping track of table seating, let her know you want to be seated with Mike, Stephanie and Cathy from LTHforum, then you are all set.

We will be there on Friday.

Knock on wood, there are two seats left at this table. If it goes to two non-LTH people, I hope they can tolerate an ongoing discussion of all things food.

I understand there are a few more seats for Friday and Saturday.
I believe (and could be wrong), there are two seats at the LTH table.

I just saw this and called Kelly; they are sold out for both nights (though mentioned if I can round up a full table of 12 in the next day or two, she'd add a table, which I'm not sure I can do on short notice).

Let me know (email mptam78 AT hotmail DOT com) if you know of any LTH cancellations x 2 people for either evening, we'd be open to buying the spots!

    HI,

The last I heard, our table was 8 out of 10. I have no idea if these two people are 'one of us' or strangers. Hope they love talking about food as much as us, or good at ignoring!

From reading Sun Wah's info: all food brought to the table is intended for 10 people. If a party wished to seat 12 people, there is still food for 10 now divided up for 12.

If I know of people at our table who might cancel, I will alert you. Perhaps send me a direct message with contact information.

    Regards,
    Cathy2

Tonight's New Year's Dinner was dazzling. I hope someone will post pictures and descriptions.

Driving home thinking about it, I realized there was no rice or noodles present.

It was a good evening filled with happy chatter.
