    NOTE: DATE CHANGED
The original date of March 2nd was changed due to my being sick and wanting to keep my germs to myself.

I will be hosting the Dessert Exchange in my home in the western suburbs on Sunday, March 23nd. A light meal will be served. Please let me know if you have any food allergies. Dessert Exchange meals are usually vegetarian. I can host nine people max.

For those who have never attended, bring a dessert to feed 12 people, one piece for each person to take home, and a couple will be used to sample at the exchange. Bring a container/containers to take your share home.

I originally decided to have a Mardi Gras theme as Fat Tuesday was that week, but since it will be three weeks later, I have discarded that plan. It will be the week after St. Patrick's Day, so perhaps that could be an inspiration, or perhaps Spring.

A friend is in Portugal, she just mentioned a new-to-me dessert: Camel's Drool.

Just in case someone need's inspiration!

I have not decided what to bring. Is it ok if its not Mardi Gras themed? I had an idea but it was a different ethnic type thing.

No, it doesn't have to be themed, but wear your beads. :D

I think I'm going to have to reschedule. I've got sinusitis and I'm getting increasingly worse. If it works, I'd like to reschedule to March 16th. Please let me know if that works.

March 16th will work for me (probably better as it turns out).

Sorry about the sinusitis - I had cold turn into a sinus infection this year for the first time in years. Feel better soon!

I’ll be out of town on the 16th
The 23rd also does not work for me

I was hoping I could still do tomorrow, but the coughing is still an issue. Between the 16th and 23rd, the 23rd is actually better for me as I'm helping with a pancake breakfast on the morning of the 16th and will be kidding myself if I think I can do both and be upright the next day. The 30th is out for me as well, so the 23rd it is. Sorry for those who can't make it. I think we'll ditch the Mardi Gras theme as well since it will be three weeks past.

Barring disaster, I'm bringing burnt miso pound cake. Possibly another thing regardless of disaster, depending on how much time I have today.

Sorry, no pie. I have a lot of far-flung errands so I need something that travels well.

    Hi,

I am deferring making Ideal, because I don't think sitting the car will improve it.

I am making Finger Lakes Grape Bread. I have grape pie filling waiting in the wings.
