    Hi,

Would creamy grits or a cheese-garlic grits casserole be good addition?

If not this, then I will look for something else.

We plan to bring meat-free fried dirty rice balls with Jezebel sauce, based on this awesome recipe ( ) in Tribune: http://www.chicagotribune.com/dining/recipes/sc-dirty-rice-food-0219-20160217-story.html

why go to all the trouble of frying it in balls? why not just serve it in a casserole like the original dirty rice?? i'm not trying to be critical- they look delicious and i understand you wrote the article, but for a large party, wouldn't it be a helluva lot easier?

Me, too, of course, as they're more fun, party-appropriate finger food, and relatively unknown (I'm guessing) by most guests. Also, I'm enamored of Jezebel sauce, which really doesn't work with the standard casserole format.

i definitely look forward to trying them, and the jezebel sauce sounds really unusual and delicious.

Thanks Elaine and Frank, for hosting a really fun party. Though we couldn't stay as long as we would have liked, we had some great bites and heard some excellent music while we were there.

    Thanks again!
