Big news for the PGP Plant Sale this year--there will be two separate sales and both will be at a new location!!

The first sale will be on April 22-23 for cooler weather seedlings and the second on May 6-8 for warm weather seedlings. The new location for the sale is 5035 N Broadway St, Chicago, IL 60640.

More details on types of plants and other products that will be for sale here:http://petersongarden.org/event/5th-annual-edible-plant-sale-fundraiser/

Additionally, I'm posting to see if we can get another great turnout of LTHers to contribute their cooking and baking talents to donate items for the bake sale, which will be held on the 2nd weekend.

The money raised goes to support Peterson Garden Project’s Grow-to-Give beds at each of our community gardens to donate fresh vegetables to local food pantries; cooking classes for elders, refugee parents, and kids; scholarship plots at our community; and garden education programs.

If you are interested in contributing something--either yourself or via any friends, colleagues or family who like to bake, including bakeries and/or restaurants whom you think would be supportive of our efforts, please let us know. We are looking for items that are shelf stable since we don't have refrigeration, in whatever quantity you can provide. Last year’s bakers donated 10-12 dozen each for smaller items, although some also donated pies, cakes, bread loaves, etc.--we would love anything you think would be appropriate. We are looking for a mix of sweet and savory baked goods, and vegan and gluten-free varieties are welcome too! Items must be individually wrapped(plastic wrap is fine!) and dropped off between May 5-7th.

Peterson Garden Project is a 501(c)3 so donations are tax deductible and we will be happy to provide a tax letter if needed.

If you think you can participate, please let me know, and include what you will be baking--either here in the thread or via pm or email, and I will follow up with more details.

    Thank you for your support!
