Assuming there was no behind the scene proxy voting 8), I'm still Esteemed Coordinator for 2019. So there.

It's been quite some time since we've done Korean BBQ. As a result of some recent intel posted by Cathy2 -
viewtopic.php?p=539129#539129 - we're going to rectify that and check out Kogii Kogii. Please join us on the 22nd. As always, bring a friend.

The lunch specials and other parts of the menu suggest Japanese influences, not necessarily a bad thing, but it will be interesting to see if this is truly fusion. At least I don't see any pad Thai. And I've never been at a Korean restaurant where they cut anybody off on the banchan.

Nevertheless, I am somewhat intrigued. Count me in for now.

Just curious, please don't jump all over me.

Is it pre-ordained, "probable" or clueless if we are doing the "all you can eat"? Or is the ayce just for dinner, so we couldn't if we wanted to? And, of course, they might discontinue the special by the time we get there....

Just curious if I invite a friend who might NOT want ayce due to limited foods she will eat, and, as usual, they say ayce is everybody or nobody per table.

And explain that you are talking 1 person at a large gathering. Even if they have the rule, they might make an exception in that sort of situation.

FYI - Our party was seven people, four hovering around inset gas bbq and three at the tabletop bbq. Perhaps one or two more at the BBQ at the tabletop.

Once again on the periphery of my lunch range I will have to make it to go. I will sit and enjoy everyone's company for a short while.

Looking forward to visiting this place!

Thanks for setting this up and See ya!

    Guidelines
    1. Minimum of 2 people. All parties seated together must select AYCE
    2. 18% Gratuity will be added to bill
    3. There is a 2 hour limit on AYCE
    4. Excessive waste may result in extra $5 charge per person
    5. Child fee - 4 years and under free. 5-11 $10 (12 and over will be adult charge)
    6. Extra rice $1 charge per bowl

With Tax and Gratuity it is a smidge over $25 per person.

Question about the AYCE.....presumably it comes with banchan, but it there anything else besides the bbq? I was kind of interested in trying the pancakes and soup? Do we have a big enough group to do an AYCE table and an a la carte table if others are interested? If not I am fine with the AYCE.

    Thanks, The pot-stirring minion

AYCE comes with banchan, rice and miso soup. Looking at their menu, ordering the bbq a la carte provides no significant savings over AYCE. Paying only $5 more than the cheapest a la carte bbq item gets you as many as five additional bbq items to try. And, if one is worried about overdoing it, the AYCE portions are definitely smaller than the a la carte portions, so going that route isn't necessarily a lot more food.

It seems like the only reason to avoid AYCE would be if you don't want bbq at all.

The minions are starting the year off in rare form. 8)

As promised, I stopped by earlier to work out the logistics. We've got a reservation at 12:30. If anyone wants to order anything off of the menu as an add-on to AYCE, that's perfectly cool.

For those of you that might be geographically challenged, the restaurant is in the weirdly shaped strip mall on the northeast corner of Deerfield and Milwaukee Rd.

As an added bonus, the gas prices at Woodman's across Milwaukee Ave are dirt cheap. $4 car wash too. Cash or Discover card.

Access is easiest from the Deerfield Rd side, though it can be accessed from Milwaukee Ave, as well.

I've come down with the bug that has been going around, so I'm going to have to bow out of this luncheon. Too much coughing and sneezing to be good company for a meal.

Have great fun. I look forward to reading about your experience.

Nice to see everyone and thanks for setting this up.

As promised I ordered carryout, grabbed a few bites with the group and was on my way. 10 to 15 minutes from entering to exiting.

Had some nice conversation in between bites. :)

The few bites I had were very good! Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Bulkogi. Forgot I also ordered Dumplings and would of had one of those too.

    Thanks again...
