Alright, let's try this again. Plateia is definitely open for indoor dining. See y'all on Groundhog Day.

Funny, I'm doing brunch there the following Sunday. Too bad it'll be cold, and we can't utilize the patio. It is a glorious little haven there. Food is excellent.

Same rules apply, I'm still a maybe.
It is a darn fine patio... But not in this weather.

I have it on my calendar. Don't expect patio weather, but hoping the weather is nice enough to not derail our plans.

So, I had a brain freeze and thought it was today. When no one else showed up, I looked closer and realized it’s tomorrow.

I will not be able to attend tomorrow.

    Applause!

I once drove in a snowstorm from Zagreb to Belgrade, Yugoslavia and onto Sofia, Bulgaria in a snowstorm.

When I arrived at Bulgarian Customs, I was practically the only person there. The Custom's Officer wanted to know where I was staying in Sofia. He liked to sleep with strong women, which he just got a laugh in return.

I am in my pyjamas and don't really wish to change. I am staying home today and admiring the pretty snow.

    Have fun!

Four hearty and fully clothed folks from the LTHNLG had a great lunch today. Great food and conversation took place. Surprisingly, the restaurant got somewhat busy at around 1pm. I promise a return get-together when the weather will be more cooperative.

Thanks, Dave. It was a lovely luncheon. Good food. Good people.

But crazy driving. A very Chicago sort of day.

I would-a, should-a, could-a (homage to longtime, long-gone Sun-Times horseracing tout Dave Feldman) taken pictures. But suffice to say that the grilled lavraki (sea bass) with sensational French fries, along with the fasolakia (green beans in tomato sauce) comprised my best dine-out meal in months.

Plateia, in three stellar visits, has turned into one of my favorite haunts, in a restaurant world where food quality & service has taken a big hit for the last couple years, in some cases understandably. These Greeks don't screw around.

Company was wonderful as per usual. When one can needle a good friend and have the line come out just right, that's nirvana!
