The LTHNLG has been to the original location of Lauretta's in Mundelein on more than one occasion. It's time to check out their new-ish location in Grayslake. Please join us on the 4th for some Italian delicacies, including can't miss desserts. As always, bring a friend.

    Hi,

Do you know if you have enough seating? I heard this new location is very small.

Before I posted the event, I did my due diligence as EC and called the establishment.
They have a few tables inside the restaurant.
They have an outdoor patio with additional tables.

I'm curious about the expanded menu and particularly the wood oven pizzas, so I'll join in -- if work and weather allow.

Since I haven't seen some of the usual suspects in some time, I'll stop by. With Will not being there, who will grill our EC as to next month's choice?

I’m here now and I’ve grabbed the lone two indoor tables. You naysayers have no faith in me.

Me? I also found I was expected at an appointment at 1 PM in Highland Park.

Unless I can divide and conquer, it was not going to work this time.

I wasn't accusing you. 8) You had an excused absence.

Good visit, normal dysfunction among the inmates. Inside seating way smaller than I thought it would be, but warm weather will allow that to expand. Wood-fired pizzas were good, tasty, and seemingly no different than the NY style. Have a gas the next couple months--hopefully see y'all in July.

J, I'm so thankful that you mentioned Matt Rosenberg at lunch, reminding me of his father Milt Rosenberg, whose long-running interview show on WGN radio I dearly loved. I am glad to discover and report that hundreds of show episodes are available as podcasts at miltrosenberg.com, which Matt now operates. To keep the conversation food focused, here's an interview that may interest some:

    THE FUTURE OF FOOD
Guests are Josh Schoenwald, author of "The Taste of Tomorrow: Dispatches From The Future Of Food;" Chef Chris Koetke, Vice-President of Strategy and Industry Relations at Kendall College and its School of Culinary Arts, and the late Chef Homaro Cantu, who trained with the legendary and innovative Chef Charlie Trotter, and later opened the restaurants Moto and iNG in Chicago.

The two broadcasts I participated in are not yet available.

I listened to Milt for years. It was an absolute thrill to be on his show. Plus Mom2 was a friend of his wife and attended their wedding, which had nothing to do with why I was there.
