I hear that one can tell when a magistrate is about to abdicate his throne when he plays all his cards towards the end of his reign, brings out the tried & true.
China Chef is one of those. Haven't been in at least 10 years, but when working in Skokie, when I had business associates in from out of town, we'd nip on over to CC for a lunch special. Hot & sour soup is stellar, and at least then there were more than 20 choices of lunch specials, none more than $7.50. As one Wisconsin colleague remarked to me, 'How do they
do it?!"
Inflation & Covid may have spiked the prices a little, but I would imagine it's still a decided value. I remember the Filipino-based
pancit guisado as very tasty. Yes, Joel, spicings are generic for the multitudes of septo & octogenarians that frequent CC. But I seem to remember GWiv scoring some hot spicy oil from CC at one point.
So, EC, I'm in...as soon as I quash the plans for a poisoning of sorts. Not needed now.
