Hi all! I'm going to host the next dessert exchange at my home in Evanston on Sunday, February 26th at 4:00. Standard dessert exchange stuff: I'll have a light dinner for everyone and please bring containers to bring desserts home with you. I have a dog and a cat, in case anyone is allergic. New faces welcome! We haven't had an exchange for awhile, so I hope to see everyone then.

    Hi,

I will bring an Easter lamb cake made with the Wilton method of adding instant pudding to the batter.

Easter bunny molded cake morphs to Easter Doggie. If you scroll through this thread, you will learn I was invited to Wilton Test Kitchens to learn how to handle cake forms. It ended up as a feature story in the Chicago Sun Times food section just before Easter.

Their concept of adding instant pudding was to replicate a firmer, pound-cake like texture that could stand up. Since this idea has resurfaced, I thought I would make what I did some years ago as a comparative.

I would love to come if there's still room. My good allergies are on hiatus- being controlled with meds. I'm so excited to be able to have dairy again. I'll start looking through recipes.

So glad you'll be able to join us again! And, Joan, I'll add Taisa to the list. I think after that we'll have to be at capacity though.

i'm really happy to see so many people signed up for the next dessert exchange. with that in mind, i'm thinking of making chocolate/hazelnut/toffee biscotti so that we'll have something to take home that won't need to be eaten right away, as biscotti keeps for several weeks. ( i reserve the right to change my mind, though...)

Hi, folks. Unfortunately, I just found out that I was exposed to COVID three days ago at a condo board meeting. My rapid test this morning came out negative, but given the unreliability of those tests, I don't plan to attend tonight. I will miss everyone and all your wonderful treats. Have a great time and I will catch you at the next event (if I don't catch some other virus then). XO.

    So sorry!

I heard on the news there is a new test in the process of being approved that can distinguish between Covid and the flu in a single over the counter test kit.

I hope you don't get ill.
