OK - we're going Commando for June. Other than a recent mention in the O&C thread, nobody in LTH World has posted about this place. Let's check it out for ourselves. As always, bring a friend. Note the 12:30 pm start time.

Bummer. 1pm dentist appointment. So I'll miss this month, too. I'll hope there is no conflict in July.

You can view their menu by clicking here.

Note - I could not find a website (or Facebook page) for the restaurant by searching, but I was able to access their menu by using a QR code in one of the photos on Yelp.

    Jay,

To your children and grandchild, you are definitely an elder.

Amongst this group, you are just one of us. Not even GAF qualifies, because I need at least a generation space and he's at best half-generation.

I do look forward to Dosas on Thursday.

Maybe I need to rename the group to LTH North Altacocker Group.

Maybe if you as a 'lantsman' learned how to spell alte kaker, you wouldn't want to put yourself in that category. Literally translated as 'old sh-t' or 'old fart', it sometimes refers to 'a complaining, ineffectual old man'. So yes, Dave, items checked for you, so you're technically a first ballot selection.

But I had once heard from someone in the know that a true 'alte kaker' would be the old guys in the back of the temple yelling at everyone to sit down so they can see. And they would kibbitz between themselves about the women with 'holzenafloppin'...translated as you might think but not listed in any Yiddish dictionary!

Alter cockers always do. We have tired cases.

Our group made a meal out of:

    Bhei Puri
    Veggie Samosas
    Cheese Masala Dosas
    Paneer Masala Dosa
    Idli Sambars

If I'm missing anything, someone will chime in.

Based on the count of empty plates on the table, it was all good.

    Time for a nap.

There was that thing that tasted like cornbread with jalapenos on top... Somebody on Google has a pic labeled khaman but I don't think that's right. Might be Dhokia?

Even with the chaos of about twenty grade-schoolers running around the place and there being a little disconnect in the ordering process, when things got sorted out we were treated to some truly amazing dosas, with accompanying sauces and sambar. Samosas were almost rock hard, but inside a real tasty mix of potato & whatever. I love this South Indian cuisine.

As I say about so many places these days...'if I lived closer I'd be here all the time'.
