I would like to submit Pearl's Southern Comfort as a 2018 GNR. Opened in 2015, it has become an important part of LTH and the Edgewater neighborhood. It checks all the boxes for me: quality cocktails, excellent food and friendly staff.

    laikom says early on:
You could really tell that a lot of care went into the creation and execution of each dish.

Nutter Butter pie at Pearl's. Holy lord is it indulgent, and worth it.

boudreaulicious after the family style feast in March 2017:
Everything was tasty but standouts for me were the pimiento cheese apps, gumbo shooter, hot chicken, ribs and etouffee.

Agree, the Becks do it right.

I'm also a huge fan of the Becks and I fully support this nomination. The LTH meal we had there back in March of 2017 was one of the best meals I had all last year.

I agree with previous posters the Beck's do it right. I volunteer for Peterson Garden Project and work out of the Broadway Armory just down the street so I often just sit at their bar for a cocktail and light dinner. Chris Kafcas, a veteran of the Chicago cocktail scene makes a great sazerac and the pulled pork poutine and the poor boys are a guilty pleasure. This is definitely a GNR.
