Went here for the first time tonight and was really impressed by their selection of 23 draught beers which include leffe, delerium tremmens and kwak but to name a few. Tuesday night they have half off all beer (and whiskey) flights of which they had several choices. It proved to be a fantastic bargain(13 bucks for 4 flights!), and a great way to try some new beers. Was half full on Tuesday night and most people appeared to be ordering food which looked pretty good.

I'm all about high quality brews, but they just don't seem right at the Glenview House... :?

They have proper glasses/stands for Kwak, but unless something's changed since my last visit, they don't use them. "Too hard to clean," said a waiter.

Why is that? I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.

Growing up nearby, the Glenview house was always a complete dive. On warm days (weekday or weekends, didn't matter), the patio would be packed with rough looking bikers and townies. At night, the townies always managed to hang around while a horde of underage teenagers swarmed the doorman with middle aged divorcees standing with their backs to the bar. Craft beer? It was more like a pitcher of Miller Light with 10 silo cups type of place.

Sorry, hard to wrap my head around the idea that the Glenview House is now "upscale!"

Bummer. In the early 80's they sponsored our men's hockey team. They were very good to us and I have stopped in many times when out and about that way. Hate to lose that history. Funny, as I found a jersey and jacket from back then and was planning to bring them to them for nostalgia sakes. Hope the new version is good.
