<Shameless plug start> I swung by Hotdogeria today after work, because I got a Groupon Now deal ($7 for $10) <Shameless plug end>

Hotdogeria is in the former Derek's Dogs place on Armitage, across from the Lincoln Park High School. They have been opened for about 2 months and according to the owner Guillermo (previously at Maya Del Sol in Oak Park), business has been slow. Hopefully with the LP Farmers Market starting up this weekend it will pick up!

I ordered the Mexican and the Argentina dogs. All dogs come with a choice of house made kettle chips or coleslaw. The Mexican dog is a Vienna hotdog wrapped in bacon, flat grilled served with pico de gallo, mayo, ketchup, mustard. I enjoyed this dog very much, though the ketchup dominated. The pico de gallo added a hint of freshness to the dog which made it very easy to eat. One quibble would be the amount of bacon in this dog... not enough. But maybe that's because I'm used to the Mission-style dog of San Francisco!

The Argentina is a flat grilled argentinean sausage, in French bread with chimichurri. I actually thought it was a regular Vienna dog until just now. The chimichurri gave a little vinegary tang to the dog, but overall I was not impressed.

House made kettle chips were nice touch, but mine were a little greasy and hard. Also he just tossed a handful in my paper bag with my dogs, which was not what I expected.

Overall I would try one or two other special dogs next time. The Mexican dog was my favorite of the two, though next time I will tell him to lay off the ketchup

The name of the restaurant sounds like an unpleasant condition one might get from eating their product.

LOL... I can see what you mean! But in my own experience, I did not experience any unpleasant conditions last night! He was cooking the sausages to order in individual pans on a stove top... I don't think he can keep that up if business picks up!
