As anyone can tell from the mere 19 posts in the Rosded thread, this is a Thai restaurant that gets very little attention compared to other notables like Spoon Thai, Sticky Rice, Aroy Thai and TAC Quick. So it's time for dinner at Rosded - Tuesday, November 15 at 7pm.

I've spoken with Tom at Rosded and he's excited to have us - I'm pretty sure they will be preparing at least a couple of off-menu items for us. So please let me know if you can make it. I plan on limiting the group to 10 people (now increased to 12). Also, Rosded is BYO.

Rosded is at 2308 W. Leland (4700 North) in Lincoln Square, just east of Western Avenue and just west of Lincoln. There are two very close metered parking lots, the better one (you don't have to cross the street) is the one on the north side of Leland. It is also right across the street from the Western Ave. Brown Line station.

Count me in. They serve great versions of several dishes there, including the only pad thai that I actually go out of my way to order. I hope this somewhat pedestrian dish is not overlooked in the menu planning process (along with the shrimp in chile jam).

Starting in the late '70s I ate at Rosded more than any other restaurant, until I moved away in the early '80s. Rosded was clearly the best of the handful of Thai places around then and might have been my all-time favorite Chicago restaurant. Since returning to Chicago I visited Rosded only once and had a disappointing experience. That was over ten years ago so I guess I'm overdue for another visit.

Am I in time for the last spot? If not, can I be first for the waiting list?

Waited as long as I could to do this but I am seriously under the weather--cold AND flu--ugh. Hate to miss but I'm going to have to...enjoy without me :(

Thanks, BR, for setting up this really enjoyable meal. I've posted some thoughts and images on the main Rosded thread.
