It's certainly no LSC or anything like that, but if you're thinking in terms of, say, Orange Garden (which I realize is damning with faint praise) then maybe we're in the same ballpark. We've never done takeout from HoWS, but it wouldn't surprise me to find that their strengths lie in the sit-down portion or their business.

OMG - Pensacola & Lincoln, just north of Jury's, south of Julius Meinl's, more or less across from the Jewels (as it was called in the 'hood)?
Dang. I lived just a few blocks away for six years. I never knew!
But thanks - you're a mensch. Skol!

I was taking the bus and saw a "coming soon" sign for House of Wah Sun at 3232 W. Irving Park Road (formerly a Golden Nugget Pancake House). Anyone know if they are moving or expanding? They are hiring for this location so maybe they are expanding?

I continually sing the praises of House of Wah Sun to friends looking for high quality Ameri-Chinese cuisine in the area. It stands head and shoulders bove other local places such as Orange Garden. I often feel bad that House of Wah Sun is even mentioned in the same sentence as Orange Garden as the quality of food is not even close.....though Orange Garden has/had a cool sign and an old school vibe.
The chain’s 3234 N. Irving Park Road location closed at the start of the pandemic and didn’t reopen, Guzman said. It has been leased out to House of Wah Sun owner Mark Chiang, she said.
Chiang said his lease at Wah Sun’s at 4319 N. Lincoln Ave. was not renewed and he was going to have to move out by the end of the year. He decided to relocate to the former Golden Nugget near Kedzie Avenue, he said.
“Pretty much everything’s ready; we’re just waiting for the city’s approval to open,” Chiang said. “But we’re still open in Lincoln Square until then.”
