    Two recommendations:

In the Nashville Farmers Market which is down the hill from the state capital, there are a number of good eateries, some of which I have posted before. Unfortunately, many are closed on the weekends, especially in the off season.

We did enjoy a stand called Delta 61 which had a very good selection of southern specialties including macaroni and cheese, fried green tomatoes and some of the best peach cobbler that I have had in a long time. The prices are reasonable. There is ample seating in the food court area.

When it is open, Jamaicaway is also excellent and I believe that I have covered it several times before.

Near the Vanderbilt campus in the West End Is the Row Kitchen and Pub. I recommend heading there on the nights that they have live music. The music is excellent. They are not always pushing you to drink. They also serve food that is quite good. I enjoyed the Nashville Hot Chicken which was spicy enough but would melt your face off. Their sides were pretty standard but well prepared. If you plan to converse, you mights want to sit back.

Going back to Nashville in November 2017 was a culture shock. I think that the city has doubled in size in the past 20 years and it is getting almost as unpleasant as Austin in terms of getting around. Do not assume that you will be able to find free parking in too many places as you could before.

    Hope that helps.

Heading to Franklin for a wedding in a few weeks. Most of the activities are south of Franklin so probably will not be spending much time in Nashville. Does anyone have any recommendations for the area immediately around Franklin? I do not see much that looks too promising, particularly in the hot chicken/bbq areas. There is a biscuit love in Franklin which we will be sure to try.

    Thanks, Will

A group of Roadfooders met up in Nashville several years ago for a four day food crawl. Most of the action was in Nashville proper, but we had a few stops in Franklin. I don't remember much about these stops, or even if we hit all three, but at least it gives you a starting point.

Let me know if you need any Nashville recs. I've got a couple dozen of those to offer.

    Have a great trip!

Had a quick 1 1/2 day work related visit to Nashville recently.

My only meal outside of the scheduled meetings/meals was at:

    Midtown Cafe
    102 19th Ave S.
    Nashville, TN 37203

I was in the mood for breakfast food as I had a freaking early flight that morning. I selected the Florentine Omelet with spinach, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and Goat Cheese. A good choice + a friendly server that kept my iced tea glass filled. I was a happy camper.

Heading to Nashville this weekend. Thought I would bump up this thread to see if anyone had any new recommendations, or must visits. After some research, currently have reservations at Audrey, Locust, City House, and Pelican and Pig.

    Thanks!

I remain a huge fan of Roberts as it's my favorite music joint on Broadway. But, it has a fried bologna sandwich with chips, moonpie and PBR for $6. I love and have a weakness for fried bologna. My wife is partial to the burger and turkey melt. $2.50 PBR, Busch Light, or High Life. FYI, they serve bottles of Topo Chico. If you carry a flask, Topo and Vodka or tequila is outstanding!!!

I did a three day Roadfood Crawl of Nashville in 2018. Got a full itinerary of nearly 40 stops. Everything from high end dining to down and dirty dive bars. Send me a PM with your email, and I'll send it to you as a Word attachment.

Locust was the highlight of the trip. Absolutely phenomenal! The tartare and dumplings were easily best I ever had. Haven't been that surprised by a restaurant since Tratto in AZ a year or two ago.

We think alike. I actually drove nearly 900 miles to visit Locust about a month ago. But with that said, I also took a road trip to visit Pizzeria Bianco years ago also.
