Actually I did buy 10 of the LC at Jewel on Monday, but I might stop at Food4Less and get a few more while they are on sale. I was just at Sams Club last week to get some gas, and I got some coffee filters at Sam's too. By the time I bought the 10 LC and 2 mini pizzas, and a carton of ice cream, my freezer was packed, but I have used a few of them since then, and so I have some rom for a few more LC. Hopefully Food4Less has the LC veggie pizza that I like.

If anyone likes Chex cereal, it should be on your radar. There's an "Unlimited Use" $3.00 off of 3 box J4U coupon to clip that's worth searching for. There's also another coupon worth clipping if you can find it. I think it was an extra dollar off of some quantity of Chex. Anyway, the weekly sale price is $1.99 (must buy 4.)
The sale price offer+ my coupons:

5 boxes of Honey Nut Chex (one of my all time faves, but I no longer partake)
3 Boxes of Cinnamon Chex (there was no more Honey Nut Left!)

8 boxes total, the weird Jewel POS math came out to be $8.42, or $1.05 per box. I might go back to my jewel on Tuesday night and buy a good portion for donating if there's any left. With the $3 off of 3, and the $1.99 for four, it should be...let's see...carry the 7...

    4 boxes for 5 bucks.

The $1.99 6 oz salmon portions are already deep sleeping in the freezer, too. On a whim, I hand weighed a few of the pkgs of the salmon portions. I guarantee some were more generous than others. The 99c blueberries at my store were massive. The blackberries were gone. One pkg left. it was mostly moldy.

Today was the best deal on snow crab legs ever. Ever. May never happen again.
I had a rain check from the $4.99/lb sale a few weeks ago. None in the seafood case but the fishmonger found an unopened box of frozen and picked me out some beautiful clusters. Had the clerk enter the rain check. Apparently there was also a special Just4U price because an additional amount came off for a net price of $12.56 for 4.65 lb. And, not just cheap, but some of the best crab in a long time maybe all time, rivaling the recent excellent sale crab for flavor and beating it on texture and ease of pulling out unbroken pieces.

Super-duper deal crab at Jewel, count me a fan and then some!

I was at the Jewel on Chicago Ave. in Evanston, and they have Earth Bound and Gothic Greens plastic containers of spinach and assorted lettuces on sale for $1.99 There is a limit of two containers on most of the Earth Bound stuff, but Earth Bound now has some local lettuce which is grown in a greenhouse in South Bend and which is also $1.99. There is not a limit on the greenhouse grown lettuce, which is normally $4.49. I assume it is on sale through 12/12. They had lots of the stuff on a separate display that you spot when you first enter the produce department, but none of the Earth Bound lettuce there had a sign denoting it was on sale.

Found a few rando coupons in my J4U:
$1.00 off any boxed breakfast cereal purchase of $1 or more (excludes hot)
$1.00 off any fresh vegetable purchase of $1 or more.

The $3.00 off 3 Chex cereal coupon is still valid.
Current sale price is $1.99 MB4, so I can get 4 Chex for a buck each.

Broccoli crowns (example) 79c /lb this week. I can get 2lbs of brocc crowns for 60c total.

I'm also eyeballing that 42 OZ Quaker Oats coupon for 4.99. I haven't bought bulk oats in a minute, so I'm not sure if that compares to the prices I USED to get at the bulk stores like Whole Foods - I think I recall $1.69/lb or so. We have a big oatmeal eater here, and it'll be used for xmas cookies. Two times in the recent months, Jewel has had the smaller 18oz Quaker oats at 3 for $5. I stocked up the first time, and passed the 2nd time, assuming that perhaps the prices were coming down.

Last week I got a get 2x the points if I buy $10 or more of produce. I ended up spending $13 on produce. This week the only individualized coupon I got that I might use is Lean Cuisine for $3.05. I should have gone to Food4Less when they were $2. this last week. On a Jewel Facebook group I belong to, a few weeks ago, somebody got a $30 off on produce, must spend at least $30. I never get any great deals like that. I never spend $30 on produce at Jewel anyway.

The FTC will have to respond by tomorrow to Kroger and Albertson's plan to merge.

The FTC decision on the Kroger/Jewel merger is due by January 17, so we won't know until then. California is also threatening to sue to stop the merger. It's highly likely that the FTC will oppose the merger, because unions oppose it. If the merger is approved, Marianos will be immediately sold to another company. But the merger will probably be a long legal battle.

Next week's Jewel ad (for Dec 20-26) will be essentially the same as this week's ad (J4U offers will reset). Jewel will be closed Christmas Day.

I saved almost $800 on J4U in 2023. When I was at my sisters in New Orleans over Christmas, we went to the grocery store, and she spent $50, and only got half of what I normally get. She refuses to sign up for any discounts, because she does not want them keeping track of what she buys, even though I told her that I saved almost $800 at Jewel.

A note for those who didn't get enough pasta: Butera has Granoro on sale thru Tues Jan 9 for $.99. If you can find some of the 500g bags vs the 1lb bags, that's roughly the same price. Granoro bucatini has been mentioned here sometimes. Their other shapes are quite good too.

I just popped back on to say this same thing.
I couldn't make it to my normal Jewels earlier yesterday, so I popped into the one store right near I drop jr off for his sports practice, at 7:30pm. SOLD OUT. I figured maybe I should try another store on the way home after practice, and found some.

Thanks, Nancy - I would have never known about this one, and Parm cups for a buck is pretty nice.

Thanks- I am glad I was able to help people. If Jewel is out, yo can ask for a rain check, but the problem is that a lot of Jewel stores close their CS at 8:00pm, and I often shop in the evening. I got an email yesterday morning about the flash sale from Jewel. I also belong to a Facebook group called Jewel Deals with Barb that mentioned it a few days ago. I never made it to Jewel yesterday. The only time I buy already grated parmesan is when I am making lots of pesto. Otherwise I just buy a pound of imported parmesan from Whole Foods. I use a multiplane grater, and usually don't use much more than two tablespoons, and so a pound of cheese lasts me at least six months.

BTW- Over at Jewel Deals with Barb, Barb posted a few days ago that there was $6 /
Splenda coupon earlier this year, and Jewel had Splenda on sale for $4.99. Barb somehow acquired 250 of these coupons, and used them at Jewel and got overage for every one. She did donate the majority of them to a food bank. Hope this helps, Nancy

I just found out on Jewel Deals with Barb, that next Saturday 1/13, Jewel is having a wonderful one day sale, but it is only good for people that do pickup or delivery. The sale is not going to be good for people that shop inside the store. I know Jewel is trying to promote their pickup and delivery option, and they are giving some people who do this a coupon for $30 off.
