We enjoyed our celebration here last night. It felt mostly like it always has.

A round of miso soup and salads began the meal. We then shared gyoza and takoyaki.

The birthday girl suprised me and ordered Tonkatsu instead of sushi.



Jonathan did not surprise me and got the same thing he always does - Steak Teriyaki.



I splurged and got the Sunumono/Sashimi Dinner. The tempura was particularly good - very light and crispy.



The restaurant was about 75% full at prime time on a Saturday night. It's definitely going back into our regular rotation.

New ownership has officially rebranded as “Tenjin.” Signage has been changed. Website is: tenjinrestaurant.com. If you visit the website the header is “Tenjin, Formerly Renga Tei.” Seems like they will honor the spirit of Renga Tei while modernizing a bit. You can make a reservation on Open Table.
