I went with a choice 8lb flat @ 6.49/lb at Costco - Orland Park. They had full brisket @ around $3/lb. Both were not frozen.

Frozen flats were available at Sam's club. They looked like ingredients for dog food.

Wings were disappointing at Costco. The 7lb bags were no more. The replacements are 10lb bags with a 8% salt water brine. Other sources look like they have 10-15% water/brine added.

I have always gone with the full prime brisket at less than half the price. You can always cut the flat off if that's what your looking to cook, and then use the point/rest for something else. Point is always good mixed with other cuts to make ground beef, or used in a slow cooker like pot roast. I have had consistently great success with the Costco prime briskets in many different uses.

Costco Niles, a few days ago. Not a bad price for prime brisket ($3.49). They also had enormous beef ribs for the taking.

No, I bought neither brisket or beef ribs. Meat wise, walleye pike for dinner that night and St Louis ribs for the next (yesterday) We have house guests the last ten days and I'm buying a little more food than usual. Ribs, slaw, potato salad, 7-pepper BBQ sauce for 8-people last night, was fun.

With all the price increases for meat lately, I was happy to see prime packer briskets in the mettawa store for 3.69/lb. they topped out at about 15 pounds. choice flats were 6.99/lb.

Nice, they've been as high as $4.99 at Costco.

Picked up a 7-pound (flat and point, much of the fat was trimmed) Slagel Family Farm brisket from Fresh Market Place today, and just pulled it out of the oven. The $9.99/lb price is higher than most, but I don't mind paying $70 for several servings of high quality beef. It smells divine, and I am excited to try it

Prime at Costco up to $4.29. Not that big an increase, still the best stuff to smoke, but maybe too greasy for a braise.

    Seems expensive!
I currently prefer USDA Choice for smoking as it holds together better whem slicing.
USDA Prime can be very soft.
As a corned brisket, USDA Prime is no problem.
I have had one Wagyu brisket and it was wonderful both corned and smoked.

Yeah, I have often wondered if USDA Prime brisket is priced relatively low because it's too fatty. Packers have to do something with it - every prime rib comes with a brisket.

Aldi's price is $5.79 per pound. I have no idea if this is a good price or not.

This is Aldi, so you probably need to get there sooner than later.

Not a great nor a terrible price for a flat but for a whole brisket, that'd be really high, especially if it's Choice, not Prime.

Prime brisket was in stock at the Randhurst Costco at $4.29/lb. They were all massive too, 17-20lbs. Rub was basic, just salt, pepper, and my favorite sub-dried chili powder.

Two batches of charcoal on my WSM ran 11 hours and got it to 194F, lots of wobble and bark. Sliced and reheated after a night in the fridge, served with steamed broccoli and smashed potatoes made with tallow rendered from trimmings. I alternated bites with chili crisp and guacamole salsa (Jewel house brand). Most of it is now portioned out in packets in the freezer. A little left over went into tacos for lunch.
