FWIW, was in D&D yesterday afternoon and did not see any Candlelite frozen pizza in the cooler yet. They have had some in stock from time to time in the past.

I wonder how many of the Cermak and Valli stores mantioned in the Block Club story carry these pizzas. The Cermak store at 6623 N. Damen seems a natural due to proximity to Candlelight and a very wide product mix, but the other Cermak stores in Chicago are very different. The Valli store in the Dempster and Dodge shopping center in Evanston also seems a natural while their other stores are quite a distance away.

Piccadilli Market recently opened at the southeast corner of Rockwell and Lawrence, which is less than four miles from the original Candlelite. I need to stop there soon and check it out. From the outside and their web site they appear to carry a lot of specialty items including teas from Rare Tea Cellar. Carrying Candlelite pizza would seem to fit right in. There is also a cafe.

It's been available in sort of a test for a few years; Cary's Lounge on Devon used to have them for customers. They're fine. Obviously not as good as fresh from a proper oven, but a decent approximation of their in-restaurant pies. Of the ones I've tried, the Candlelite White was the best.

Interestingly, there's now a franchising page on their website. Hmm...

Spiteful Brewing Tap Room used to have them. They were pretty good, especially if you got hungry while sipping on some brews. Spiteful has switched to Pequod's thin crust.

They were offering investment opportunities in their frozen business last year. It's a risky market segment.
