Evanston Lunch Group™ The Lunchroom @Studio 519, Oct 7

On October 7, the Evanston Lunch group will convene at a 3 month old restaurant/cafe in the newly renovating Plaza del Lago. Too new for many Yelp reviews but there is another Space519 boutique department store with Cafe/Lunchroom on Chestnut in Chicago with reviews and the menu is almost the same.
Everything on the menu is fresh made in house. The Lunchroom offers soups, salads, sandwiches, seasonal specials and some unusual sides, like Miss Lucy’s pimento cheese.
Please join us for a tasty dining experience and a chance to say goodbye to GAF. After 20 years of joining us to share a meal, this will be Gary’s last lunch with the LTH Evanston Lunch Group, before he and his wife move to Atlanta to enjoy their retirement.

Is it the Lunch Box or the Lunch Room? There are indications of both online and I wasn't sure which was actually correct (unless they both are).

Also located within SPACE 519 is The Lunchroom – a breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch restaurant focusing on California-style farm fresh cuisine as well as The Lunchbox – for counter service barista drinks, baked goods, and gourmet grab and go.

So they are two different operations within Space 519. This website is clunky for locating stores as the store map has no identification of stores. You need to click on the store outlines to get the name of store in that position. To save others from that exercise Space 519 is at the southwest corner of Plaza del Lago.

If you are coming north on Asbury in Evanston, is it better to go up Green Bay Rd. to Wilmette Ave. to 10th Street or link over to Ridge and flow into Sheridan Road?

I’d recommend staying away from Greenbay Road in Evanston. Starting north of McCormick, Greenbay Road has been under very heavy construction almost all the way to Wilmette.
If you’re coming north on Ashland, I’d recommend taking the scenic route, enjoy the lake views, head east to Sheridan Road and north on Sheridan to Plaza del Lago. If you’ve shopped at Plaza del Lago before the recent changes, Space 519 is where Yellow Bird Stationary and Gifts was located for 37 years.

I agree with B2B. Even though construction and lane closures on Green Bay continue, it has been flowing a bit more smoothly lately; however, it's out of your way. Coming up Asbury (Western in Chicago), your best bet is to turn right on Church, then left at the next light onto Ridge. Stay in the right lane to continue on Ridge (not the two left lanes that feed onto Green Bay). Past the hospital Ridge feeds into Sheridan Road, on which Plaza del Lago and The Lunchroom are located.

The detail on going from Asbury to Sheridan is what I needed. Since I live a couple of blocks west of Western, that street is my standard for getting to Evanston. Ashland in Chicago is under construction now, regularly slower than Western and a pain for me to get to.

Just confirming that Tom and I are attending the lunch today.

I just confirmed our reservation for 6 at 12:30 at The Lunchbox at Space 519. Reservation may be in the name ”Mary” or, hopefully, Bib Neiman.
Our reservation is now limited to 6, and they cannot accommodate a larger group at this time.
