Facebook: What's Going on Quad Cities ·
·Our heart goes out to the Family and Friends of Frank Serra. I never met him, but from a few things I’ve read this guy was definitely one of the good ones.
It’s hard to imagine the quad cities without a “Franks” (in Silvis, Illinois). That place is absolutely legendary. If it wasn’t for them the QC would be likely be polluted with subpar pizza.
The amount of credit Frank Serra deserves for making the Quad Cities well known for its pizza cannot be measured.
All of us pizza places in the Quad Cities should have our flags at Half-Staff today.Frank Serra, owner of a Quad-City favorite, Frank’s Pizza, has passed away.
Our Quad Cities News verified with the restaurant that Serra died March 11.
Today we lost a great man, one of the most important men in my life, next to my father. He was a second father to me and my mentor. I grew up with all of his kids, and they’re like brothers and sisters to me. Just like my father, I could go to Frank for advice or anything, and he always helped without question. Just like any family, we didn’t always agree on everything, and we would butt heads every now and then, but we always had love and respect for one another. When I was 20 years old, Frank told me he was going to make me his manager someday. After working in the kitchen for eight years, he took me under his wing and had me wait tables for a year and tend bar for another year. I worked for Frank for a total of 38 years, and he took care of me for those 38 years. I will always have love and respect for you, Frank. I know you’re up in heaven watching over us. Rest in peace, my friend.
